If you are doing Delta, be sure to check the fairing at the base of the vertical fin---late A340/330's have a different one (bulkier, more angled), and I know some of Delta's have it---I think actually all of theirs do. The kit is of course, the earlier version.

The fin differences are on the A330-200 only. The fin was modified from MSN0555 onwards to use the same actuator systems as the A340-500/A340-600. This did not affect the A330-300 (or the A340-300) which still uses the same fin as in the kit.

How big are the logo lights themselves? What size would they be in 1/144? 1/2 a mil or a 1 mm sort of thing?Thanks David and Skidbuggy, but I am doing the Qantas scheme. I'll try to find the nearest match for the gray and use dark aluminum for the inside part of the wing.MH

The aperture for the real light is about 150mm, so just over 1mm at 1/144. While researching the position of the light I found that Revell just copied the locations of the lower access panels on to the top surface. There are only five separate panels on the top and seven on the lower surface. The panel sizes also seem to be off but to make the horizontal stabilisers more accurate without totally rescribing the panels, the lines should be filled in as follows:

Upper Surface (hope you can see the dot I added for the logo light, the flash seems to have washed it out)

Lower Surface

Finally, you can get a free download of the DIN medium font here: http://fontzone.net/font-details/din-medium. This should be close enough for you to print the registrations.

thanks so much for taking the time to draw out those lines and photograph the stabilizers for me Jonathon - I know how much effort is involved in just uploading the photos. I will follow your advice with filling in those lines.

I had though about lighting the tail, front wheels, main cabin and wings but I am not sure I can be bothered now. It'd be easy enough to do, but then I have to think about how I am going to power it and where the on/off switch would be etc etc and that no longer makes it fun - which is what this build is for me - away from the serious BS Galactica build I also have going on (which is on hold because I am sick of looking at it)

However, I did add piping to the landing gear to jazz it up a bit and I am happy with how they have come out. I am having issues trying to get the 2 resin engine halves to mate straight - not sure what I am doing wrong but I'll keep plugging away at them.

Anyway, I must go now and eat something because I'm starving, but thanks again for all of your responses and information everyone!
