Dmanton300
So here's the second Airfix Lighting F.2A I've built from the new Airfix kit. Again, no issues to report, pitot from a sewing needle but otherwise SFTB, decals are kit for all the stencil data and Xtradecal for the camo 92Sqdn "King Cobra". Undersides are Gaianotes EX-07 Silver thinned with Gaia Metal Master thinner, and some panels picked out with Alclads and Tamiya AS-12 bare metal silver. Topsides are done with Mr Coolor 323, which is actually modern armour NATO green, lightened with flesh. I was worried that RAF Dark Green would start to look like a black hole on a small model like this. It's been post shaded and blended with lightened shades as well. Wash is a mix of black, brown and grey oils. Streaking is a mix of Humbrol enamels, 29 dark earth and 33 matt black, blended with white spirit on a damp wide brush. Final varnish is Vallejo matt with some gloss added to knock the extreme flatness off. Light coats polished with micromesh in between. And there she is! Hope you like. And lastly a family portrait with the NMF 92Sqdn machine!

Tom G
Very nice work. I like both of them. Excellent paint work and the wash makes the panel lines stand out. Tom
