Drifterdon
I stumbled across one as part of a larger decal sheet for Japanese Neptunes and Orions by Liveries Unlimited (Airways Graphics) on ebay but the sheet is at $21 US and I can't bring myself to pull the trigger for just a tiny little decal to do window area. Anyone aware of another source for windshield decals for the 1/144 Orion? Don Edited March 27, 2015 by Drifterdon
82Whitey51
The only item I've ever seen that comes close are the Eduard and EZ Masks vinyl masks for the 1/72 P-3 Orion. EZ Masks sets always come with a black printed depiction of the accompanying mask on a piece of the instruction sheet that is the same size as the actual mask. I photocopied it and shrunk it by half in order to cut out tape masks in 1/144 scale. Worked really good.
Jennings
How about the actual art from the Platz sheet? The scale is there so you can size your printout accurately.
Drifterdon
Awesome. Thanks Jenns.
don f
Hi Don, Use small pieces of plastic strip, glued in place, then sanded to match fuselage contour. Fill the space between the resulting frames with Micro Kristal Klear. Finish with a thin coat or your favorite clear coat. Here's an example: Apologies for the lousy image quality. The photograph was taken through my display case. Don
Drifterdon
Great looking Orion Don F. I can use this idea for future builds. Unfortunately, the EP-3E I've started already has the canopy puttied in and painted white along with the top of the fuselage. I can use this later tho. Thanks.
RCarlson
This is great! I'm also doing a EP-3E in 1/144 scale and was wondering the same thing. Okay my brain is not working today. What percentage would I use on a copier to scale down the drawing Jennings provide to 1/144? Edited April 2, 2015 by RCarlson
Drifterdon
I would, through trial and error, keep printing on plain bond paper using the scale as a reference until I had the correct dimensions and then print to decal paper. I don't know if copier brand matters or what. I am a total noob when it comes to printing your own decals. Hopefully someone else with a lot more experience can chime in. That's what I did. I just played around with different scales to get it close. I'm close to having my EP-3 ready for paint so this is perfect timing.

Jennings
The one I set you is 1/144.

Don I'll try to get a picture. It's few and far between when I get to do any work on it. I'm using the Wolf Pak decals for the Hainan bird and the Click2Detail EP-3E set. Drifterdon
Those are the same markings I'm using on mine. The conversion was by hand using laminated styrene and carving to shape. It took forever but turned out nice. I've had it on the shelf of doom for years waiting to finish tho. The Wolf Pack decals should help energize me to finish it. BTW - Thanks again Jennings for the scan of the windshield markings. Don
Jennings
Not a scan - that was the actual artwork from the Platz sheet.

I'm hoping that I can find some time this weekend to work on my kit. Edited April 9, 2015 by RCarlson

Dutch
Jennings artwork is no longer available. Can someone else forward it to me please? I have 25+ 1/144 P-3 / CP-140 s in the works.
