phantom
Next up, again being built for someone else. This weird old helicopter. The HOS-3 or S-51 in Canadian service. Made by some company I never heard of from Ukraine.
phantom
Cockpit is surprisingly nice. However little tiny easy to miss divots represent where parts are to go. No big. That part is working. Seems all the glass parts apart from the front part are broken. Can glue them back together but its a problem. Some are broken in places they are going to show......Photos tonight hopefully. phantom
Not sure how well this will show the damage......
phantom
Some of the clear plastic had to be replaced with plastic strip. That seemed to work well. Nasty how the crack is in the areas that will not get paint. Trying to clear it as much as I can.

Rick McPherson
I'll live with it. You can make the windows smaller and square it off. Your choice.

phantom
I was hoping to get some work done this weekend. Sadly that is not going to happen.

phantom
Good, all healthy again.....Too much yard work, getting ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow. That kind of stuff today.
phantom
Masks are nice. Hopefully they stick well and keep the paint out.
martin_sam_2000
Looking good. Didn't know they made a 1/48 kit of this! Sean
phantom
Me neither!!! Right the yellow is on now. Letting it dry. Seems the plastic is not exactly Hasegawa/Tamiya smooth once the paint is on.

phantom
Thanks, the rotor had to be glued in place. The light plastic does not support the weight of the blades even after I modified the housing with a metal support rod. I figure it has a grand total of 12 decals to go on. All of course from the spare bin. Just numbers and roundels.
Rick McPherson
It looks really good. It's always a challenge with these little ones, but you're the best.
phantom
Thanks Rick, far from the best.....but I don't suck so that is something.
phantom
Decals are on, and she be done.
Grandboof
Looking great as usual Martin H
Tailspin Turtle
Nice work - for a more realistic appearance, however, the rotor blades should droop. See http://tailspintopics.blogspot.com/2013/04/a-note-on-rotor-blade-droop.html
phantom
I know they should droop. However as I mentioned I had a hard enough time just getting them to sit on the airframe. This short run kit is far from Hasegawa /Tamiya plastic.
