Don
The "Mach 3" mockup F-4X. Conformal bolt on water tanks on its spine, new intakes, larger tail, redesigned recon nose, new cockpit designed to keep the crew safe plus other additions all in an attempt to provide allies (Israel being the most interested party) with a poor mans SR-71. EDIT: More info here: https://tacairnet.com/2015/06/18/redeveloping-the-f-4-phantom-ii-into-a-mach-3-fighterspy-plane/ And here... http://aviadejavu.ru/Site/Arts/Art7844.htm Funky looking Phantom though. phantom
If I remember correctly it was also one of the last F-4s built for Israel. Notice the fancy camera nose in the radome. The conformal fuel tanks were actually just cardboard mock ups.

Whiskey
I believe it was also labeled F-4E(S). Thing was a beast. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/ultrafast-f-4x-f-4es-odyssey-israels-recce-phantoms/ Edited September 12, 2018 by Whiskey
