Israeli F-15D color schemes

Recommended Posts

Which of these 2 kits would make a better Israeli F15D,  Hasegawa F15D/E or the Eduard F15D/E (old Academy kit) ? Keep in mind the Eduard kit has allthe photo etch parts plus PE parts to make the Israeli cockpit, resin wheels and afterburner cans and ejection seats. I am using some armaments from my Academy F15I like Python 4s and some AMRAAMS, missile rails and the ELTA 8222 ECM pod. Ordered the resin ecm pod to, that has the decals for it

Thanks

Jeff

Usually the adapter pylon that goes between the pylon coming out of the CFT and the pod itself comes with the pod.

My academy F15I kit had the pod and adapter, just no decals. It uses one of the braces for the AIM 7 or AMRAAM 120. Also ordered a resin pod kit to, that has the decals

Then what were you asking for?  If you already have the Academy F-15I, then you already have the pod and adapter.  If you were asking about the small pylons that stick out of the CFTs that AIM-7s, and the pod, attach to, it’s already been mentioned that that they were in the Hasegawa kits.  Hopefully you didn’t buy a Hasegawa kit just for those four small pylons.  Likely you could have asked for them in the traders board since they are unused in nearly all of the Hasegawa kits.

I actually did buy the kit for those pylons. I know, crazy right? F15s are one of my favorite planes and kits. I have many. My ECM pod out of my Academy kit just doesnt have the decals. It may or may not be more accurate than the resin part but am not sure. It will be here next week. I use the weapons from these kits on other kits, especially the Academy kits which come with all the modern weapons

OK, Here's another ? Where could one go to get accurate photos of Israeli F-15D Baz cockpit photos? Is there is possibly a book someone could point out to me or photos online> In my Eduard kit that has the photo etched cockpit parts, the cockpit instrument panels are all block. Was just curious if the rest of the cockpit tub is black but am not sure

Thanks

Jeff

The Isradecal book has pictures of the Improved Baz cockpits, which are all black. Now if there is something even more up to date than the improved Baz, I don't know.

Thanks for helping me out here guys. I saw on some hobby website, cant remember what the name was. I am looking for the 2 side console joystick for the back seater in the Israeli F-15D. A gentlemen on this site was kind enough to send me some photogeraphs of said cockpit. The D model has the 2 side sticks like the F-15E and I models along with the K. The Academy kit does not supply them for whatever reason. I thought it was Flying Leathernecks but didn't see them on his website. I need the 1/48 scale version of them, resin or styrene

Thanks again

Jeff

Just a quick search seems to show they're in the Mod Eagle scheme ...

F-15C/D CFTs seem to be appropriate as well ...

HTHs ...

Those are not Mod Eagle colors, they are standard 36320 over 36375. Mod Eagle is 36176 over 36251 much more distinct. Israeli F-15 did not receive the Mod Eagle scheme.

Thanks for the info. Even though it doesn't show the Litening pod or the FLIR pod on the Baz aircraft, I would think they would have the technology to run them so I am going to use modelers prerogative and put them on anyways

IAF F-15s are not configured for any target pods, only iron or GPS guided bombs

Popeye is exception-it has it's own pod
