dai phan
Hi all, I bought the Red Roo F-86 resin wing and the wing is warped resulting in anhedral. What is the correct way to correct? Someone mentioned heat? Thanks Dai
goondman
Yikes Submerge in hot water, Remove and bend to the desired position. Be sure its not TOO hot, you may pull it out and it's too pliable thus creating more problems.
Bob Beary
I would start with just a hair dryer. Gradually heat up the warped part and see what happens.Sometimes the resin will "relax" back to its former shape. You can always go to short dips very hot water. Geoff M
You can tape it to a flat surface and heat it up with a hair dryer then let it cool.

The thing is I need to put some dihedral into the wing so taping to the flat surface may not work? Dai
Robert Garelli
Placing it onto a flat surface would be the start, you need to heat the part with warm/hot water and slowing start correcting the shape to the side you want to go with it. As Geoff mentioned, strap the wing to a flat board to start getting the warp flat, then start correcting the dihedral by placing wedges in increments till you get the dihedral you need in the wing. Its not going to happen in one session. Edited December 20, 2023 by Robert Garelli
