Very interesting site, thank you for sharing.

Tamiya got lazy with their rendition of the Ukrainian M1A1's,its basically just their older kit with new decals. They did the same thing with the Leopard 2 A6, which I am currently building. None of the other Tamiya M1's kits will help. If you want an more accurate version of the tank then you will need the RYE FIELDS MODELS kit as it gives you everything you need to create a fairly accurate kit of the Ukrainian M1's they are fielding. https://spruebrothers.com/rfmrm5120-1-35-rye-field-model-m1a1-abrams-ukraine-update-with-workable-tracks/

Just wow! The fine panel line and rivets work and the incredible cockpit just blow me away. Just amazing to look it ! 😮

That's wild. But I can't say much, I have a 10' x 10' storage unit full of models all packed up that I have to decide what to finally do with one day.

Thank you.

Vallejo makes acrylic panel line washes, I have tried them, but in general never had a good experience with acrylic washes. You need to be careful how you clean it up, if you are not using an enamel or lacquer clear before applying the wash then you may damage the paint coat while cleaning up any excess wash. Since I paint in acrylics now I only use enamel or oil washes.

This one was built out of the box. Nice fitting kit, didn't give me any trouble.

Looks great, love the weathering you did on it.

Nice work on it and your figure came out great!!

Thanks Don, that's what I will do then. I might try one of the Quintos sets for the academy as well just to see how they fit.

I have a couple of the Tamiya 1/48 F-15C kits and started looking for some aftermarket for the cockpit, but there isn't anything out there specifically for the Tamiya kit. Only aftermarket for the cockpit I can find is for the GWH, Hasegawa or Academy F-15's, anyone know if any of the aftermarket items for the other kits can be used on the Tamiya kit?

That's great news Dutch, it sucked not having power for a few days. I was so happy when i could finally turn a light on again and use my A/C. The one saving grace this past week was the pleasant weather during the night to be able to at least sleep during the night. Thank God this didn't happen in the middle of August.

Hi Dutch, I am pretty sore from boarding up the house and moving as much as I could inside the garage. While watching the news of people in St.Pete boarding up their homes saw someone using the tarps you mentions, thought that was pretty cool, wish I knew about them before. My wife and I had several quotes for shutters to be installed last month, looks like we are planning on getting them installed this year. Good Luck and stay safe.

Be safe Dutch! I live on the East side of I-75 in Tampa and not in an evacuation zone. Completing the boarding of the house today and hunkering down. The only thing we can do now is pray.
