  1. Hi All Here is a bunch of pictures with pictures I took at the Technical Museum of Berlin. Mostly it is WWII planes which are quite well preserved. I tried to get as many details as possible like wheels, bomb racks, etc. Technical Museum of Berlin Enjoy Carlos
  2. Hi Nice to hear that I wasn't the only one with the organge peel effect after airbrushing future. I may try using a brush next time (Besides I don't need to clean the airbrush, future is a bit difficult to clean) My question is, doesn't it leave brush marks? I'm not very successful brushing without marks Regards
  3. Hi I have an Eclipse CS and I can recommend it a lot!!! I use it mostly with acrylics but It works fine with enamels, at least I have used Humbrol and Revell enamels and I'm quite satisfied Regards Carlos Quiroz
  4. Great tip Let's see If I can do it for the Stuka I'm building now!!
  5. Hi I've been thinking to try this approach. Any special instructions of how to paint the decal film? Do you use acrylics or enamels? Doesn't the paint tend to crack when the decal is bent? I also wonder how to cut small stripes with a fixed width, any suggestions? Regards Carlos
  6. Hi I haven't tried but my bet is that the bond would be too weak. Of course if you treat it carefully it may hold for a while Why do you try krystal klear? Regards
  7. Hi An issue I always have trouble with is glueing some painted PE part to another painted part. It doesn't matter if you use CA or white glue, the bond is done between two layers of paint and that is weak. I guess the solution is to scrape the paint but with such a small parts is very difficult without leaving some visible mark. So an ideal glue should melt a bit the paint so that the bond is done between the metal an plastic, I'm still looking form something like that :-) Carlos
  8. Hi Thanks to Gary for his article. I have to say that the results are astonishing and I'm very keem to try the technique in my models since I've never been succesful doing the panel line thing. Just a few questions About the prescribing: - Do you use a scribing tool or a hobby needle should do? At least I found that the Bare Metal scribier leaves too wide lines (There is a high probability that I'm doing it wrong :-)) - Do you prescribe also all the small panels and covers? About the washing mix: - Could you be more precise in what exactly a "thimble full of thinner". Regards and tha
  9. I found Tamiya Primer to be a bit too grainy. I could try to warm the can, matbe that helps Otherwise Gunze Mr Surfacer in cans ins great, very thin and completly smooth. Difficult too find though Regards
  10. Hi Maybe I'm too lazy but I try to use precut canopy masks as much as possible. I very often do this WWII German planes with a complicated frame and masks are really great. I've used Eduard's and Black Magic masks a lot If can't find a mask for a given plane I use Tamiya tape Regards Carlos
  11. Hi I'm building this diorama for the Dragon 1/48 Natter and I'm a bit in doubt on how to paint a "steel" structure found on the bottom of the launching tower. Use of steel metalizer paint is of course an option but it looks to me too pristine. Do you have any pointers on how to paint a nice looking steel structure, with some light rusting perhaps? I've been searching the interenet but I can't find anything really useful Regards
  12. Hi Isn't future too weak to hold PE parts for long? I haven't tried but it gives me that feeling. OTOH when using CA for glueing small parts usually the CA blob looks too big compared with the part no matter how careful you are Carlos
  13. Hi This could help for vacuformed canopies in general Falcon canopies tips Regards
  14. Hi all I'm building the MPM Arado 196 which comes with a vacuformed canopy. The canopy looks a bit foggy and I'm wondering what would be a good way to make it look better. Has anybody used future to improve vacuformed canopies? Or should I sand it a bit before? Regards Carlos
  15. Hi This one costed 32GBP + SH, which make a total for me of ~45 €. Of course the price is not the only comparision point. Other important thing is how many holes and which sizes are available. BR
