  1. Well I have begun the process of gathering information and details to begin my next viper. I am going to do the Squadron bird for the 421st in Desert Storm. I have plenty of pics as well as parts for my Block 40 kit, But I am missing two very important items 1. HL code and 421 TFS with white shadow. 2. 421st Badge Any one know who produces these or if there are any people who can scratch up a set of them in 1/72nd? Let me know William G.
  2. Why does this seem familiar? Didn't Lockheed use a spectral paint on the F-5 (P-38 Recon) in W.W.II? As to the additives for the paint, that were asked about in Automotive paints. I have a few jars of the powder that is mixed with a clear coat to provide the color shift. They are made by Rupert Gibbon & Spider inc. as well as a few others I buy them at a few art supply shops. (Pearl here in Tampa as well as AOE) I have used the Duo Red-Blue and the Duo Blue-Green on model cars. They work best over a gloss black surface as the black absorbs the light that is not reflected. I test sh
  3. Well thats cool enough for me will come in handy when I have a few torches to put out. Hmmm Like when the villagers start chasing me for meddeling where mankind was not meant to meddle, or is that modeling where mankind was not meant to model? William G

  7. Well House of Hobbies here in New Port Richie had a couple of packs of the 1/72nd scale ACES II , so I bought them got 7 seats, and go to find out... THEY DONT FIT THE HASE COCKPITS!!! Oh well, I took out the trusty dremel, snaded down the sides and bases of the seats on two of them, then fitted them into the cockpit tub. Next I took a cockpit for one of my kits that is in the future build pile and did a little grinding inside the tub and Well now the seat fits. Has anyone else had this problem? William G
  8. True the idea of an Elevator into space is a great idea, which I am hopeful will see development soon. The websiteTethers Unlimited has a great explanation of them as does the book Time Master by Robert L Forward (R.I.P Bob).

  11. Hey guys, I am looking to add an F-86 to my builds soon and wanted to do it of the F-86 Tow Target jets that Flight Systems Inc had used at Nellis in the Mid 1980's Anyone have any pix of these sweet machines? Thanks William G
  12. I have had good results with Gunze and Tamiya acrylics. I know that you might want to do what I have done in the past I add a single drop of "Dawn" detergent into each bottle I use for brush painting, ( only use a few for brush painting so I dont have to duplicate too much) this breaks down the surface tension and allows it to go on a little smoother the other thing I do is I use denatured alchohol for the thinner. I also try to keep three sets of brushes One for acrylics One for Enamels and a third for Lacquers. I try to not mix the brushes as I have had some cross contamination from

You have them also on the Pylons for any external stores Not to mention on the back of the TER if sto

  15. Yeah But, Mike the USS Los Angeles, is not being subjected to the same stress in the water as, say a drop from 1 mile if the engine conks out on an atomic rocket. Nor is the reactor in the same league as the Nuke motor would be to propel a payload into orbit. Lets just build on the Moon... my 2c worth there... As to the structure for a Wheeled station It is a giant Suspension bridge with no endpoints when it is built. the larger the ship the easier it is to offset the weight/mass for movement and equipment. Water tanks built into the floors and walls to counter the weight imbalance and
