  1. Nice start with equally nice subject. Will this be a camouflaged plane? I built one some time ago as well, and it was a very nice build overall. As you seem to have noticed, the seats won't fit easily. Pay some attention to their final position - I was unable to close the front canopy because the seat is on the way, partially because the seat refused to fit. Fixing that would be a rather tedious task now.
  2. There is the Extratech #72063 PE sheet (which has several cockpit parts) and many resin ejection seats (NeOmega and Pavla to name a few). Nothing for the pylons as far as I know. Unless you count the Revell kit as aftermarket stuff.
  3. These look pretty good - though rather expensive as there is a lot of other stuff - thank you!
  4. Thanks - that was exactly the reply I did not want (but expected) to read. Sounds like awful lot of work to make 6 pods for a Mi-17. Maybe one master and resin copies would be the way to go. Should be interesting learning experience at least if/when the copies turn out to be junk.
  5. Does anyone have recommendations for getting B-8V20A rocket pods in 1/72 scale? These seem to be rather crudely represented in all kits I have seen: in Zvezda Mi-17 kits, they actually have 17 tubes and in Italeri Mi-24V 18 tubes, additionally being way too small. Zvezda's Mi-28A kit has the best representation I have seen so far: correct number of 20 tubes in front but 18 which are seriously misplaced in back side. I am aware of Prop & Jet resin pods but they do not look that great to me either.
  6. Both -P and -PU kits contain three sprues, of which two are the same for both kits. The third sprue has a different forward fuselage, and another dashboard plus stick for the -PU. Naturally, there is the extra canopy and windshield, but these are the only differences between the two kits.
  7. Maybe you remember wrong. I have that kit, and can assure you that the panel lines are engraved and there is a cockpit (not that great but it exists). Check the LuckyModel link for pictures. As volzj said it is the Italeri kit. The sprues look nice but unfortunately the other side is not that nice - it is plagued by ejector pin marks everywhere. Or, maybe Revell has recycled kit numbers.
  8. Flankerman, that is a MiG-27M, not a MiG-27K. MiG-23/27 Flogger by Aerofax (hmm, I wonder why Amazon recommends to also check out "Naughty Spanking Stories from A to Z"... maybe it has something to do with the search term "flogger") has few pictures of uncoded, upgraded MiG-27Ks carrying a strange pod in centerline hardpoint and two Kh-31Ps but I would not call the images particularly clear.
  9. According to this page, the Airfix and Heller kits are identical except for decals. You need to register to view the pictures of the Heller kit contents, but in short, it looks like a reasonable kit with raised, lousy details, fictional interior and useless decals. I have no personal experience with these kits.
  10. Laurent, Julien - thanks, good info. Apparently the MiG-15bis kit is worth considering.
  11. Has anyone actually built the Gran kit? Judging from the sprue shots linked in Laurent's post, there is plenty of clean up to do, but it looks well detailed compared to KP kit, and the decal sheet looks much better. Any other comments?
