  1. Hey all, Thanks for all the replies. Dave, a PM is on the way to you... Many thanks, M
  2. Ok, thanks for the replies so far. I checked Flightdecs, and no joy on either. Isra is sold out, and Sky's isn't even listed! Also checked Squadron, with no luck. I'll keep looking.... Might be able to cobble together what I need from my Israeli F-16 and Mirage sheets. Aidy, that would be good if you could do that for me. email at aussiebassbone"at"hotmail.com Cheers M
  3. Title says it all! looking for what's availabe in 48th for Israeli A-4's. I know Isra had a sheet, but it's gone the way of the Dodo. (Anyone want to sell there 48th bits of that sheet?) TIA< Matthew
  4. I ask if 2bobs would do a "generic" aggressor sheet, before he reprinted the "standard" sheet. I thought a sheet with both grey and black codes and stencils (say 1 of each) with 0-9 in the yellow bordered red numbers etc. but no luck....
  5. Yes, or use one from the F-16CJ kit...
  6. The Hase spine is 2mm short in relation to the length of the kit top fuse part. It's also a real PIA to cut the cockpit "hump" from the back of the pit opening. I'd be very tempted to use the CE spine if I was to do another..... FWIW M
  7. Hey Darren! Would love to go the Melb, but my work schedule isn't very flexible. Thought you may recognise this, too.... More hereMy Webpage
  8. Forgot to add.... I used the airwaves spineon this build. Ok, the shape is a little off, but the Hase spine is a whole 2 mm short!!!! You also have to source b 40 wheels from a Hase F-2 kit.... ;)
  9. Regarding IAF specific details, the Hase "Brakeet" kit falls short in MANY areas. Even with that kit, if you want to build a fully representive IAF jet, there's heaps of scratching to be done. The kit decals are ok, but as mentioned, the blue is a bit light. Don't waste your time (and money) trying to get a Brakeet, it's simply not worth it. You could get a B or D, plus decs and the CE spine for less than the Hase kit alone. Here's my take on it (scuse me for showing it off again.... This was built using the Brakeet kit, plus kit decs (it was a commission build) with heaps of scratch de
  10. Note that this is one of the Block 42's. The 2Bobs sheets depicts 3 earlier block 32's, and does NOT include this jet. The colours are as listed by Phantom, but are "transposed" to the pattern on the JPS web site (ie, the same colour pattern, but staring with the dark blue). These schemes also use all black stencils and codes, where-as the earlier jets used varying shades of grey. Cheers' M
  11. G'day all, Pete, the guy that commisioned this is a member of my IPMS club, so it "should" be a relatively painless, damage free hand-over. Can't vouch for what happens then though..... Thanks for all the comments, too. Much appreciated. Matthew
  12. Thaks Joe, So that could potentially be the only diff?
  13. Wondering what the diff is between the BB F-16 b40/50 set and the MLU set. The panel was updated to the later standard in the MLU wasn't it, so an "MLU" pit should work fine for most C's? Obviously the seat can be different with the retactable probes in some jets. Thoughts Thanks M
  14. Why do you want a seemless intake, "AND" an intake cover?????? Are all these on the one model?
  15. Hmmm, there's not much in it between the 2 greens, at least in the photo's..... I always post shade my colours with a lightened version of the base to create a bit of interest too, so finding the "exact" colour isn't paramount. The surounding colours can have an effect on how the varios shades look too. Thanks for post Albert. M
  16. If I may offer my thoughts, too.... Preface this by saying that I don't have acces to the real thing, so my only refs are pictures in books like to Isra titles. Of course there are the problems associated with colour reproduction, etc, but that's all I had do go on when I built my model. Hum 121 has a distinct red cast to my eye. Comparing the paint with photos, shows only one or 2 instances of this red colour being in evidence. The vast majority of pictures show the colour to be yellower, and lighter than Hum 121 out of the tin. I know the colour is supposed to be 33531, and 121 may be a go
  17. Animal, Keep in mind that "structured surface" means raised panel lines on the Rev/Mono F-5 series.... If that's a deal for you. There aren't any 1/48 F-5 E/F's with recessed panels. M
  18. One other Q... Is there any other ref to this jet in the book? Would like to know before I ask Mr Amazon to send a copy.... M
  19. That's the book!! Interesting story re that bird. I wonder what the truth is? There's also a colour profile on the back of the Osprey book Israeli Phantom Aces showing this bird. The book is on it's way to me from Amazon I think the whole "disinformation" thing makes it even more appealing, subject wise... M
  20. There was a book published some time ago (by Squadron?) about the air wars in the middle east that had a close up painting of the nose of an Israeli F-4 Pahantom with a huge shark mouth. Anyone recall the name of the book, publisher, and if it's still available? I had a copy of the Superscale sheet that included the huge shark mouth years ago. Managed to "misplace it" somewhere over time. Have just picked up another copy, and would like to gather soem refs for the Phantom involved. Any help is greatly appreciated. Matthew
  21. Neil, Ah-Huh!!! Many thanks! I'm wanting to do some F-16 wheels, of the type used on most jets these days, but not availabe in kit form. Was thinking of using the Eduard etch, and spinning some kit wheels on my lathe to accept the etch, then resin cast. I might try making them from scratch... M
  22. Neil, Fantastic work. It becomes easy to see why Paragon product are so top notch, your modelling skills are exceptional. Congratulations. Please reveal how you cut such precise, neat odd shaped holes? matthew
  23. Yeah, but what'd they find??????? Nothing, hopefully! M
