  1. Great work so far! Looking forward to more to keep me inspired for my PR ANG F-16 build.
  2. Great build! Can I just mention one pet peeve of mine...STOP QUOTING PICTURES!!!!!
  3. Pierre - superb work! I've been watching this build with keen interest, and look forward to your next post!
  4. How about some good decals for it? I was considering using some Su-27 decals for a "what-if" Ukrainian machine.
  5. Well, after all of the great info here, I sold some stuff and got my hands on Italeri's F-16A which comes with all of the aforementioned parts to do the ADF. My (hopefully) last question regarding these birds - what are the definitive greys for the camo? Every kit and every diagram has different colors. Can anyone give me the skinny on the colors? Based on the pics and stuff, I am going to have the ECM pod on the centerline, two wing tanks and sidewinders. I was considering the large 50th anniversary logo for the tail, but I am probably going for the standard markings (the gold seems a little
  6. Great build! You've got me stoked to finish my F-4G. I can't believe how trouble-free the Hasegawa Phantoms are compared to most of the other kits in my stash.
  7. I have the following items for sale or trade: -AMT boxing of the Vulcan Shuttle from ST:TMP almost everything is still on the sprues and the rub-on decals are intact.Pending -ST:TNG USS Venture conversion parts for the Enterprise-D. It consists of two resin inserts for the warp engines and some decals which are ok - I would include the decals from the -D kit with this. -JT Graphics full decals for USS Yamato, which is the same as the Enterprise-D class, with all 500 lifeboat decals and every other marking for that ship. It's a great set which is going to waste in my stash. So make me an of
  8. ...not everyone looks there. 9. Nice build! Always good to save a work like that from oblivion...
  10. I have the Nimrod, and am planning a build of the Mr.1 version. As everyone else is experiencing, the Airfix roundels are off a bit. Does anyone have a set of the Mr.1 decals left over from a larger set of decals? I would be more than happy to reimburse, just that I hate to pay $20 to use one small portion of a set.

  12. Alright, a few days of work and here is where I stand: The forward fuselage is assembled, with the cockpit, nose gear well, and forward avionics bay installed. I've done a rough sanding of the halves after assembly, and for the most part the fit is good. I had a couple of small gaps around the nose, but nothing huge. As I had mentioned earlier, I have cut a piece of the avionics bay cover and fared it back into the fuselage as the opening was too big according to photos I have. I also added a thin strip of styrene around the lower half of the bay to help fill it in, and drilled some holes w
  13. ragatiger - I recently got my hands on the Experts' Choice set, and it is a great set to have. I'm sure of you poke around enough online, you'll find a set. I can't thank you guys enough for all of the input.
  14. Paolo - thanks so much for the visual cues - that is exactly what I needed to see! I had wondered about those bumps and extra panels. And nachjager - thank you for the pics! Those are next to impossible to find on the 'net. From what little I know about this stuff, I am assuming that the TERs were only for ground ordinance. Also, is there anything on the centerline? It looks like there's something there, but I'm not sure. Thanks again to everyone for your help - I am stoked to get this kit on the table!
  15. Here are the results of the last few days: Forward Avionics Bay- everything forward of that big box will be covered by the forward fuselage: Wheel wells, both nose and main: Main gear wells in the wings and the nose gear: Please let me know what you think - it helps to have others look at your work for a fresh viewpoint. 16. You sure got that right! Like I mentioned earlier, I only have the Tamiya -C kit to work with. I know it's not the same overall, but if I can get reasonably close I'd be happy. Again, it's only a hobby, and we're supposed to have fun with it, so if I can't make a reasonable ADF-looking plane, then I'll save myself a lot of headache and just build it OOB and use the PRANG decals anyway. I'm sure most of us have been down this road before, but I'm on notice from the boss that there shall be no more kit purchases prior to the IPMS Nats, otherwise things get miserable for big daddy. Everything you
  17. I posted this in the "Buy and Sell" fourm. I like it but I have soooo many ahead of it, so I'd rather see someone who really wants it to get it.
  18. You guys are a bundle of information for me! Like I said earlier, I have the Tamiya -C Blk 25/32 kit, so I will have to just make those blisters for the tail base and try to get close. My kit budget for the quarter is done, so I have to work with what I have. It's kind of nice to know I have the option of using the other ordinance. Can you guys tell me if the stuff like the ECM pod or the AAQ-28 pod would be used? And as far as Aim-9s, would the -M or the -X be appropriate for a PRANG unit? I'm just no thip to this F-16 stuff.
  19. I have an Academy 1/35 Oh-58D "Thugs" and the excellent resin correction set from Werner's Wings. I'd much prefer a trade if at all possible, otherwise, please have a PayPal account before you make an offer. Here's a list of trades I'd like: -Hobby Boss 1/48 F-105D -Academy CH-46/HH-46 1/48 -Hobby Boss 1/48 F-18D -Kinetic 1/48 F-16 AM -Revell 1/48 EA-6B You can kind of see where I'm headed here, so please feel free to make an offer - I'm usually easy to please.
  20. Ok, sorry no pics tonite but I have made progress. In the last couple of days I have finished the forward avionics bay with some additional wiring and painting as well as a good dark wash. According to photos, the access panel as in the kit is too long, so I will have to cut off the forward portion of it and put it back onto the fuselage after I get the body together. I filled the nose cone with BBs and white glue, and I painted it Polly Scale Coach Green. The nose wheel was also painted Coach Green and assembled. I've also painted all gear bays with Model Master US Navy Blue Gray. There are a
  21. Thanks guys - I have learned much about the F-16 just in the last two days. I will press forward with this build soon.
  22. Making my own bulges on the tail seems to be the way to go. I just had a PM from Paolo who has built quite a few ADFs, and he states that the CE tail won't work on the Tamiya kit because of different fuselages.
