  1. I think the responses above have pretty well covered your questions, but I did want to welcome you to the hobby. Glad to have you here. This is a wonderful place to hang out and ask questions and just come to chat !
  2. Yeah, I remember seeing one used as a chase for the Dreamliner (not sure if it was carrying extra batteries or not...sorry I had to :monkeydance:/>), so that's what made me think a T-33 would be a logical assumption. Probably doing filming or photos a Boeing or American Airlines commercial or ad. There's some awesome scenery out where they were flying at (I'm quite familiar with the area), so it doesn't surprise me.
  3. You know you live in a slow aircraft zone when something like THIS makes the news. Definitely a Triple-7 and definitely that hideous new AA livery, but can anybody ID the photo ship? My money is on a T-33. Let's all freak out over the 777!
  4. The number of posts you have here on the site. You can change that in your profile to read whatever you want it to if you like, as well. And every time you reach a posting milestone here, you get a new little jet "kill marking" thingie under your name :)
  5. You know something, come to think of it, I bet you are absolutely right about that. They shouldn't be that hard to scratchbuild, anyway.
  6. And since we're talking about Stealth Fighters...are those panel lines???:jaw-dropping:/> CLICKY CLICKY
  7. Parabat is correct, I am referring to the 4 hexagonal fairing looking things along the edge of each weapons bay door. I though they may have been hinges at first, too, but yes, the hinges are on the interior of the doors. That's why my next thought was that they may be the little bolt-on radar emitters used to help ATC track the a/c during peacetime operations, but I've only seen them on the sides of the fuselage.
  8. Could somebody please enlighten me as to what the little diamond shape thingies along the weapons bay doors are? I don't recall seeing these on an F-117 before, and I know the Tamiya kit doesn't have them on it. Maybe the radar emitters they bolt on during non-combat operations? But I thought those went on the side of the fuselage.. Anyway, any help would be appreciated! Thanks :) http://www.wallpaper1080hd.com/photo/usa/air/Bomber/F117/F117-4.jpg
  9. Thanks so much, everybody! Unfortunately I won't be making it down for ValleyCon as I'm already booked for this weekend :(
  10. Hey all! I manage to snag 2nd place with my recent build of the SkunkModels MQ-9 Reaper kit at the Ventura CA ModelFest show. Caracal decal sheet was used. If any of you guys are on Facebook, check out Ventura Hobbies photo album of the show. There wasn't a great turnout as far as aircraft go, but there was a ton of car builds, and they were beyond phenomenal. Anyway...here's the pics of my build. The first one is on the workbench shortly after I finished it, and the second one is at the show:
  11. Sweet! Guess a trip there is in order for me tomorrow. Got a store about 5 or 10 minutes from my house.
  12. Sobo...hmmm, wonder if I could get it at Michaels?
  13. Will regular white glue (read: Elmers) work OK to secure clear parts? Thought about using CA, but I don't want to take the chance of fogging, and I've had the worst luck in the history of the world with the Testors Clear Plastic Cement.
  14. Not a fan of either team, but I do enjoy great football. I also think that a non-call on the Crabtree play late in the 4th was absolutely correct. Great job of officiating. When I saw the play live, I thought "jeezus...throw a damned flag!", but after I saw the replay, both players were getting grabby there, so it was a great job by the officials to just let that go and let the players decide the game.
  15. Sweet! Thanks! Google sucks...I didn't get a hit on anything. These will do just fine :)
  16. Hey all...I'm currently poking around at the Skunk Reaper kit and as I studied the intake on it, I was wondering if the real thing uses FOD covers, and if so, does anybody have any photos. I am asking because there is no way I want to 1) try to scratchbuild that little divider thing that is in the middle of the intake that Skunkmodels left off, and 2) there's no detail in there, anyway. Thanks for the help, folks!
  17. I'd like to see the Ravens win, since I'm a Rams fan, and a Division rival winning the Super Bowl would just, well, stink. Should be a great game, though.
  18. What awesome builds!!!! When I was a kid, I couldn't get enough Lego. I could spend hours with them. Still have my big box of them in storage...thinking of taking them out again soon. Through the years, I have built many, many sets per the instructions, but for the most part, I just enjoy freelancing with them and building random stuff, like launch pads, or desiging my own aircraft or fun stuff like that.
  19. Can't. Stand. It. :gr_barf:/>
  20. Glad to hear things are starting to look up. Still praying for a speedy recovery for Hal.
  21. My thoughts and prayers go out to Hal. Get better soon!
  22. Hey all...here's the photo album on my website from MIRAMAR And some shots from California Science Center, inclulding Space Shuttle Endeavour on her first day of public display...click HERE Enjoy!
  23. Saw the movie tonight. Considering I have the attention span of a drunk gnat, I wasn't looking forward to sitting through an almost three hour movie, but it actually wasn't too bad. Honestly, I really enjoyed it. Yes, it was a bit too long, and I do think that the editors definitely could have 86'ed some of the parts that seemed to drag on and on, and it wouldn't have affected the story at all.
  24. Lt. Col. Hall-Bridges, the pilot flying the KC-135 in this photo, is the daughter of a close friend of my family's. They had an article in the local paper about this photo yesterday. Check it out :)
