  1. That's right, that's the one I think I'm going to do, ol' 283. The only thing missing will be the small Texas flag center and just below the cockpit glass. Thanks for doing this sheet Kursad, it looks amazing and I can't wait to buy it!! -Derek
  2. Hi, I'm looking for the 1/32 Blue Impulse decals that were included in a recent boxing of the Hasegawa 1/32 F-86F Sabre kit. I can buy or trade (mainly 1/72 subjects). I'd like to use them to create a QF-86F drone flown by the USN in this scheme. Let me know if you have this sheet and aren't planning on using it. Thanks in advance. -Derek
  3. Hi Juan, I have this sheet and will not be using this option if you are still looking for it. I’d love to trade it for another Wolfpak option you have and won’t be using. Shoot me a PM. -Derek
  4. It was harder than I thought to choose which Fury sheet I wanted... Choice is now made, pre-order sent it! Thanks Kursad. -Derek
  5. Great job! I really like it! -Derek
  6. Thanks gents. I guess I need to either print my own or look for someone else to do it. First I should settle on which drone I want to do... -Derek
  7. Hi, Is there anything out there decal-wise for 1/32 QF-86F Sabre drones? Something like the decals included in the 1/48 Hasegawa Sabre drone boxing? I know most drone markings are fairly simple, but just wondering if anyone has done this in 1/32 before. Thanks, -Derek
  8. Oh no, really? What’s wrong with it?
  9. I also forgot to mention that Mike West of Lone Star Models fame is putting out a resin set of wings/slats for the B-66 kit in November. I will be picking this set up once it's available. -Derek
  10. Chris, As Paul said, this isn't possible at all. Where the A-3 was equipped with the excellent P&W J-57 engine, the B-66 was saddled with the under-powered Allison J-71. The engine pods are completely different. The Italeri/Testors B-66 isn't bad, it's just soft on some details, the jet pods being a good example. The November 2003 issue of FineScale Modeler had an excellent article on how to improve the kit. I actually just picked up one of these kits (the Testors bomber issue with the tail turret along with the Airways resin/white metal EB-66E conversion) and
  11. Sounds great sir. Another old Microscale sheet I can toss. Let me know if you need a kit to scale it. I’m just up I-35 from you. -Derek
  12. Nice. Just picked up this kit from West Coast Hobbys. USAF or foreign operators Kursad? -Derek
  13. Hi Gents, It's been awhile but I have made some (slow) progress on my Convair finally. I'm happy to report that the decals are done and she's on her gear! I was pleased to see that when I removed the masks the windows were okay. I seem to have some trash stuck on the inside of some of the clear parts so I hope blowing some air into the fuselage will take care of that - and not make it worse! I still have many small tasks to finish before she is done. I need to add the retraction struts to the gear. Plus I need to make the
  14. Didn't someone announce a 1/72 injected RF-8 Crusader a few years ago? -Derek
  15. Thanks Dutch! The decals are pretty much done. I need to do a little repair work on one end of the cheat line and then she's ready for a clear coat to seal the decals. Then it's fingers crossed as I remove all the window masks. A very nerve wracking part of the build for me... -Derek
  16. That's right. Apparently their ECM suite wasn't as capable as the "D" model so they were more vulnerable. -Derek
  17. Hi Group, I recently bought the 1/72 Print Scale sheet for the H-19. I am thinking of doing scheme #1 on the sheet, the U.S. Army H-19 in Arctic white and red colors. The directions call out FS 28913 (FLUORESCENT RED-ORANGE) for the red portion. Is that really correct? Is it not just insignia red perhaps? I've heard mixed reviews of Print Scale Decals so I hope these work okay. And speaking of the H-19, would the Italeri H-19B boxing be the correct one for this ship? Despite the artwork showing the smaller "A" tail fin, the photo included
  18. Yes that is a fact. Densil was great to deal with for sure. She's really coming together! Thanks for looking! -Derek
  19. Thanks gents. Yes, if I have to "sacrifice" myself on this Mach 2 build to get a good injected Convair twin, so be it! Happy to do it. I know Minicraft planned to do one in 1/144 some years ago but it was apparently shelved for good which I was really sorry to hear about. However, it seems that Roden is going to take up that 1/144 torch if this is to be believed (I'm still waiting on their 1/144 C-133 myself!): https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ROD334 Funny you should mention the Welsh vac kit iak-man. I e-mailed them to see if I could purchase a set of metal ge
  20. Good Morning - I started adding a few decals last night. Cheat lines were added first. I hope to have all the decals finished up this weekend. Thanks for looking, another decal update soon! -Derek
  21. Gents, I just wanted to give you a heads up on the new Ginter "Naval Fighters" series book on the CH-37 Mojave by Gunther Winkle. My copy arrived from Amazon today and upon first thumb though, holy cow! It's really great. Anther big plus is something I've never seen in a Ginter book before - color photos! Not just the front and back covers per usual, but real color photos throughout the book. Some may think it's a bit pricey but I feel it's worth it in my opinion considering the subject matter and color photos. My two cents worth... I think I hear my Special Hobby
  22. Here's a photo. I couldn't resist adding the prop for the photo! -Derek
  23. Happy Monday, Just another small update on my Convair build. Using the photocopier at work, I copied all the decals for final placement and size check. The "U.S. AIR FORCE" on the nose is a bit big, so I'll need to find something smaller. Other that that, I think I'm all set. Decals are my favorite part of the build so here goes! -Derek
  24. Hi Slartibartfast - Yes you are 100% correct. The Texans/111th specific decals are coming from two different Caracal sheets. The large fin flash is from the 1/48 scale sheet 48035: Air National Guard F-4C/D Phantom. I tried several different scales and aircraft types when looking looking for the best one and this seems to fit the bill best. While it's not 100% matching to the photo I posted it's the best I have to work with in terms of size. For the "Texans" logo on the top of the fuselage sides, I will be using the wing tip tank decals from the 1/32 scale sheet 32009: Air Na
  25. And finally for today, here is a low-res image of the plane I'm doing. She was 53-7811 from the 147th TFW/111th FIS circa 1980. -Derek
