  1. I think someone might have already posted pictures of these aircraft earlier but one of the guys I work with brought in his pictures today from when he was deployed in Iraq and this was one of them which I thought people might enjoy. *** Oooops, I guess I'm not allowed to upload pictures directly *****
  2. Thanks Neil, that picture was exactly what I was looking for!
  3. I'm building my Tamiya 1/72 Mossie as an "in-flight" display model but am not too sure about how to position the tail wheel. Can anyone show me a picture or describe the position of said tail wheel.
  4. Well I guess that seals the deal for me. I'll definitely stay away from the Hasegawa kit and stick with the Tamiya one. Thank you gentlemen! TL
  5. I like the paint scheme you choose - definitely a little unique for a Japanese F-104. Looking forward to the "final product."
  6. Considering the fact that the Tamiya 1/72nd scale Mossies are a LOT cheaper and easier to find on the market, I was just curious to know if anyone has ever done a side by side comparison. If you know of such an article would you mind letting me know....THANKS! Best regards, Tim
  7. Geez, if I had to pay $21.00 for a 1/72nd scale kit I'd be a tad bit upset too. Maybe you just aren't shopping at the right store - I got 2 of Tamiya's newer Corsairs for only $12.00 apiece through Lucky Models.
  8. Are their build up articles on the DML 1/144 A-10 kits anywhere? I'm curious to see how they stack up against the superb detail of the newer Revell of Germany 1/144 kits.
  9. Hmmmm...that's very interesting, I didn't even know DML ever made a kit of the A-10 in 1/144 scale.
  10. Thank you one and ALL...!!! Looks like I have my work cut out for me.....
  11. I'm looking for some decals to build a F-14 from the VF-101 Grim Reapers Squadron in 72nd scale. Thanks, Tim
  12. Okay Shaun, Thanks for turning me on to this kit. I found and purchase one off of Ebay and it should be delivered either today or tomorrow. I've printed out the pictures and notes from your build so I'm all set to go. I'll be looking forward to seeing your final "masterpiece." Best regards, Tim
  13. I have a brand new set of canopy/wheel hub masks from Black Magic for Tamiya's 1/48th scale Mosquito that I'd like to give away. I haven't had too much success with Black Magic products and have now gone to using Eduard's new masks instead. First come first served - USA only. Regards, Tim Lingle
  14. Thank you both! You provided me with exactly what I was looking for. May the "modeling gods" bless you. Tim
  15. I know there is one out there I just haven't been able to find it. Can anyone help me locate a good review on this kit - or who wouldn't mind sharing there personal experiences with building it. Thanks, Tim
  16. I love the picture where you are looking right down the fuselage - it really brings "to life" the bracing you added. Great work my friend.
  17. I heard the quality of this kit is supposed to be right up their with the F-14A "Black Bunny" version they release just a couple years back. I'd really like to pick up a few for myself but want to make sure they are up to the usual high standard of Revell of Germany's newer stuff. Thanks for any and ALL input. Regards, Tim
  18. Hey Tracy, For what it's worth here are two suggestions that I have used with very good results over the years. The first technique involves buying one of those large flat plastic Rubbermaid type containers that you would keep you sweaters in and then turning it over and attaching a simple cabinet handle on the top. Once you have the handle attached you can simply put the container over top your work area whenever you are not building and then simply pick it up and set it to the side when you get ready to sit down and do some work. Now the second method, and the one I currently employ, inv
  19. Yeah, I use various sized lead fishing weights too. I usually purchase mine at my local Wal-mart for a couple bucks.
  20. Hey "Griff," If you will do a search here on the boards you will discover a broad range of opinions based on which specific brand of after-market canopy masks you are referring to. Maybe I'm wrong but to me it seems like the best reviews I've seen so far have gone to the new Eduard canopy masks - these are the ones that are made with a material somewhat similiar to what you find in Tamiya masking tape. Based on the strength of these reviews I've ordered a couple different sets of these Eduard masks but have yet to use them. Personally I would stay away from the Black Magic masks that are m
  21. Hey "Chines," You might want to try visiting LuckyModel.com - they are a mail order place out of Hong Kong and they have a good selection of the Gunze products and everything is in English. There's another really great website for modeling supplies from Japan (not HobbyLink or Rainbow) but unfortunately I can't think of it right now....I know it has 1999.jp in the web address but can't remember the rest. Good luck now, Tim
  22. Hey Thorsten, You might want to check out the paint charts on the IPMS Stockholm website, I think you'll probably find what you are looking for. I don't have their hyper-link but I'm pretty sure you should be able to find their site by using the web search engine of your choice. Good luck now, Tim
  23. Oh perfect, I just ordered 2 more packs of the stuff.......GRIN. Oh well, I guess I can give it to my son and he can use it to hang up all his posters in his room.
