  1. Is this a daily thing after hobby time or a once a week thing?
  2. Did you have to repair anything? She looks great! How did you store her for so long?
  3. Sometimes you get to see a model that just makes you gasp. This is one of those models. Perfect!
  4. I could stare at your U2 all day. Beautiful!
  5. Absolutely gorgeous! I had the honor of helping VA-35 load up some Rockeyes during Desert Storm. I love the life you brought to this girl.
  6. My favorite picture is the third one. I can imagine her going into a roll and dive during a fight.
  7. Beautiful camo paint! The background, did you construct that for photos?
  8. Can you explain that to me. Very interested. Thanks!
  9. Great advice. With that I will keep it as a operational front line fighter. Thanks for the heads up! I have seen a lot of great builds by chopping kits. I am not there yet, maybe in my 50s.
  10. Definitely on my short list! Thank you. I am in an online flying squad and have been since 1999. Falcon 4, IL2, and DCS. I want to build a Viper with our virtual squad colors and I am going to build this same Tamiya Model. I want to incorporate all the lessons learned on this project and do this engine again the right way.
  11. Check Six, That is what I do as well. I am working on a 1/32 Su-27, 1/72 Krupps K5 "Leopold" railcar gun, 1/350 USS Hornet. I usually start to get burned out on a model and I switch. In my younger days, I am 44 now, I would get so burned out on one model I would go a couple of months without modeling. I have found, like you, that rotating the builds keeps it fun. This wonderful hobby should never ever feel like a chore.
  12. I finally finished the engine bay. I made a major mistake though. Without thinking I added this little pump I saw in a picture but it was on the the other side. I scratch built this and added the lines and spent so much time on it I was not about to remove it. I had to cut the APU exhaust off so it would fit. I was bummed because I cut foil tape in really thin strips and wrapped the APU exhaust so it would like the heat shielding. For those of you that have built this model you know what I am referring to. You can't really see it in this picture but you can see the location of the pump o
  13. Fellow Modelers, I found a great brush cleaner and restorer at Micheal's. It is called Brush Cleaning Fluid for Acrylic by Loew Cornell. Many of you may already have brushes by Loew Cornell. I use it to clean after using acrylic and after enamels after cleaning the brush in enamel thinner. Once the brush is clean I leave the brush very wet with the cleaner, dab it off, and store it upside down vertically. Since I have used this product none of my brushes had dried stiff. They are all feathery soft just like new. It has even restored some of my older brushes. Another great thing: no
  14. The kit engine compartment. Not bad but could use some dressing up. My first attempt at adding some details. It is really hard to find actual pictures of this section on the jet so I am making it up as I go along. Ultimately I was not happy with this at all so I gutted, sanded, and started over. Added some spars, dry fitted some piping, and it is starting to come to life. I am making this piping out of solder and Tamiya Masking Tape. I wrap the tape as tight as I can get it and then put some super glue on it. I use some quick set before the tape unrolls. Sometimes the very
