"I'm afraid he's gone and done something rather rash"
zerosystem replied to Cobrahistorian's topic in Helicopter Modeling
i wholeheartedly agree, very inspiring. i actually have the attic conversion myself and its not something i look forward to working with but after seeing this i dug though a trashbag next to my workbench to try and find the fuselage of an old sh-3 i had trashed months ago (make room for the newer better examples of my building skills) and started to strip the old paint of the thing in prep to but it up into little peices. thanks for the inspiration. looks a hell of a lot easier than working with that resin, though i might steel the sponsons peter -
you wouldn't mind posting any photos (or links to) of the kit would you? been wondering what the parts breakdown for that kit would be like. peter

hueys from Massachuset air national guard
zerosystem replied to charles's topic in Helicopter Modeling
glad they are of use sir. it was at last years airshow, there they were off the edge of the tarmac. as you can see by the tape i couldn't get any closer but the distance wasn't too bad, besides its so rare at an airshow that you can take a photo of any bird without somebody walking right through your shot. peter -

anybody see the blackhawk on cybermodeler?
zerosystem replied to zerosystem's topic in Helicopter Modeling
thanks gents. heard of particle separators just never on much else than ch-53's. kinda stealthy looking -

was preparing my accurate miniatures b-25c/d and monogram -j for surgery just now and had the 2 side by side and noticed the difference in length of the 2. most noticabily is in the tail area, the accurate kit tapers off and ends more quickly than the monogram kit. is this a difference in just the kits or was the b-25j actually longer than the b-25c/d? thanks, peter

f-15-albino (i would assume in relation to the darker grey f-15e) f-15e-mudhen f-19-frisbee (i know they never built it but still) ch-53-sh**ter f-100-ultra hog (something hog anyway, recollecting a air and space issue witht he lineage of hogs)

now does that station extend up to the window is on the startboard side? if so is there a curtain? if not is there a bulkhead that divides the area? (just don't want to have a gaping hole when i look through the window on my uboat) thanks again, peter

is there anything to the interior of this position in the aircraft? is it a seat with a few consoles? if anybody has a picture or two of the area could you please send or post them? thanks, peter

sorry little late to the party, whats wrong with the italeri kit? (preparing to duck and cover) peter

looks like a p-47 rudder... i know its odd but a b-17's rudder seems to be straighter from the edge of the vertical stab to the top of tail gunner's window...in the picture it looks more curved and cuts back in like a p-47 rudder. peter

turn your box over. i'm pretty sure most of hobbycraft kits have their placement guides on the backs of thier boxes. peter

still will be easier and cheaper than the alternative at the moment. heard nothing but "good" things about the collect aire kit, shouldn't have to worry that mpm's will bend the landing gear either. can't wait to see it. peter

i have the b-17g kit that just has the parts for the cheyenne turret, i need the parts to make up the standard war turret. will trade you my turret for yours, thanks, peter
-
much easier, i have a fisher f9f kit that had some warping in the tail section (yes i said a fisher kit) and tried the hot water method. i was shocked at how easy it was even with hot tap water, the only difficulty is finding something big enough to put the parts in. that panther kit was big, the h-3 is even bigger. peter

yikes... gonna be a..."fun" build. gonna need some bulkheads too...amongst a whole lot of patience

thanks for all the help guys, looks like there are some out there after all. peter

i know revell makes a falcon 10 kit, but i'm looking for the falcon 20. saw a coastie falcon at an airshow a few weeks ago and was thinking about trying to build one. thanks. peter
-
so close to ordering one right now. i'd like to hear what the surface looks like though? or close ups if anyone has them. wondering if its like the hasegawa kit or if it has rivets like the revell birds, or even if its all smooth without any panel lines. just curious. peter

looks just like the panda huey, which wasn't a bad kit at all. wouldn't suprise me dragon did the same thing as they did with panda's burke destroyers. really nice looking thing is all of those crew figures and weapons, finally without having to buy expensive resin ones.

well don't i feel sheepish... for some reason i never remembered seeing sh-3 interior shots in those walkarounds but sure enough, there they are... alot less room than i thought there was in there. thanks for letting me know. peter

anybody know of any places to find pics of the interior of the sh-3? trying to detail my hasegawa kit but don't know of anything more than whats behind the crew entry door (the front one) everything behind that seems to be a mystery. thanks peter

wondering if the coast gaurd and navy hh-60 (probably have it wrong...there are only so many h-60 designations that i can remember) have the ability to fold thier rotors like the sh-60b? thanks in advance, peter
