  1. Surprised no one has picked up on the shape of the tail end of the fuselage? Both kits depict post phase VI upgrades but both kits depict the parallel 40" extension as a continuation of the taper. The academy wing tanks look awful to my eye..
  2. We must remember, the CFM-56 on the Sentry is much larger than the engine fitted to the KC-135. The Sentry has the -2A3 whereas the '135's have the -2B1 variant.
  3. So are you saying the sheet metal work is flat from 150 to 170? No it isn’t. The taper on that piece is similar to the original radome/ pre G metal work. Your opinions are your opinions. I have made resin noses for G and H early/ late and to put it simply, you can sand a Late radome into the shape of an early radome but not vide Versa. maybe that what you mean by more gradual?
  4. The difference at the 150 point it is very small indeed. particularly in 1/72 scale. All of my radomes are fitted to the 170 point.
  5. The slope of the nose is indeed steeper on the early nose. The later nose was longer, ahead of station 96, hence shallower curve. Late is also deeper at st 96. The shut line of the rear of the radome is indeed further forward on the phase VI + aircraft as they needed a frame to hang the cameras off. Basically, the lower form is completely different on early vs late, from every angle. I have made early and late noses.
  6. I have just reviewed the kit on my channel and love it, however the quality isn't up there with Tamiya. I have been led to believe there is an issue with all the kits.. the left side vertical pillar on the windscreen is mis-moulded.. ie:- Absent. Is this the case? Are ALL kits affected? Is it worth bothering AMK for a replacement?
  7. Could well be????? If you look at some pics on Google of early D-E-F-G-H Buffs you could be convinced they are the same.. then look at late G/H Buffs and you are right to ask yourself.. "Did they change the nose"??
  8. @Quixote74 I would have appreciated a PM or email before you posted this....... thanks... looks like MC got the screen angle spot on. I think the errors you are seeing is the whole issue with the B-52 nose. I find that the slightest change in perspective makes a massive difference to the appearance. Same nose.. same windscreen... same kit.. different angle to match the photo attached above. I also think Steve may have cut his nose a little too far back.. note the plastic between my screen and nose compared to Steve's?? This could also explain the reason he ha
  9. Thanks for the review Steve. Glad to see it went OK. I have a couple of suggestions to those who want to fit one.. I will make a video on my channel regarding this.. Be aware.. the moulded vertical line on the kit is too far back in my opinion.Make the cut forward of this line and sand to fit. The nose does not "support" the flight deck, you need to cut away some of the plastic flight deck to fit.. again, I will cover this in a video on my channel.

EDIT:- Quixote has posted on the other thread that he thinks the nose looks off. I have responde
  11. If anyone is interested I’ve just finished the masters for a corrected no3 and 4 undercarriage bay roof and missing rear bulkhead for the MC kits. I’ve kept it simple in line with the kit moulding.. anyone interested in seeing the parts?
  12. Looking at the attached pic, it looks to me like some "Bodywork" has been done on the belly part of the radome.. like it's been straightened out to better match the profile of the "forthcoming" new radome? I have circled the area where I think the work has been done.. If you think about it, something had to be made up to produce a mould for the new design.. maybe this is it? In mould making terms this is known as the buck. This may have been the beginnings of the buck??
