  1. Ah great… the version I intend to build didn’t have the OCB in the nose, hence on the Afterburner decals they advise just to cover the seems for this AND the 4 clear window parts that are shining now as ice cubes…
  2. Working on the star tracker. The opening has been enlarged, but still using the original piece as it can have a function of the internal lense that is inside. Trying to replicate this, and think it might work quite well. Just need to cover the interior with a black sheet so that the lense even stands out better.
  3. Phantoms need to be dirty, cos they were workhorses. You captured it! Wonder when the Greek would but this bird through the car wash 😅
  4. Found some thin transparent plastic sheet in my stash, used a perforator and tadaa: looks like the right size to cover the increased Star Tracker opening:
  5. Looking through my stash of left-overs from previous kits to find anything relevant to add more detail to the Blackbird, for the antennas under the fuselage and the transparent part over the star tracker
  6. Very creative, never seen this as an idea before. And the result looks very convincing, excellent! Look forward to see her in de Display section.
  7. Doubting which version of the Habu I will make now that I can make 11 versions! Time for nice poll, which one do you prefer?
  8. Topic to be closed, have the Afterburner decals now.
  9. Topic to be closed, have the Afterburner decals now.
  10. Very happy to get my hands on the right decals! Many thanks Tim from Seattle!!
  11. Worth a try Andy, will first test it somewhere else on.
  12. Hello Davide, could you let me know which size in mm you made the opening for the star tracker?
  13. I started increasing the space for the Star Tracker behind the rear cockpit. Anybody any advice how big this should be, and how and with what to fill the additional space of the increased circle?
  14. Camera screens glued in place again, to be sealed with liquid masker for protection, before glueing all other things in place and before priming.
  15. Thanks, great to it worked on the camera screens. For the raised panel lines, I think I leave them as they are. I don’t have the right tools nor the experience to rescribe them. But with other finished models, recent Voodoo/Starfighter/Super Sabre, I found a way how to use them and bring them out on the right way.
  16. The Italeri kit has its flaws with some wide gaps, so putty is required to fill it up. Did not have that knowledge yet 30 years ago.
  17. Camera screens have been sanded and sanded and sanded, grit to grit and finally polished. Smooth as melted butter again. Just dipping them in Pledge before glueing them in place.
  18. You have a gift which you share with all of us, the level of detail in the build and the final result is stunning! Very inspirational!
  19. Best one I ever saw, excellent job!
  20. Followed by the front canopy as well, to get rid of glue spots from the past
  21. Reworking the glass screens for the cameras, get rid of all old glue strings and scratches
  22. Also very helpful stuff! Very much appreciated, as it also contains lots of details of landing gear and bays and engine interior.
