  1. I had my Italeri November listed for sale and just put it back in the stash. It has the correct main rotors, so I'm just going to use them.
  2. I didn't even notice that.......and I just heaped a bunch of praise on their Facebook page regarding the kit!
  3. Phil Flory just posted a review on YouTube :
  4. I'm done son! Flying Leathernecks Scale Creations, Flying Leathernecks Decals, the Models for Marines Project and remodeling my house and yard is taking up all of my free time and I no longer have the desire to have this stuff just to think about "one day". These are almost all of my non USMC items, with a few that I have way too many of! All items are new with no work done unless noted otherwise. All prices are in USD. **While prices I believe are fair, they are not firm. I will consider all reasonable offers, so don't hesitate to ask. **If you are unf
  5. A couple of weeks after the 001 is released. I completely overlooked the fact that several stencils were applied to the aircraft multiple times! As an example, I had 1 (one) 'NO STEP' marking on the stencil sheet.......there are 18 of them on the air frame!! Once I fix my F up, I'll send it to Microscale.
  6. Gentlemen, Are there any conversions and/or kits that provide the necessary parts to build the MH-60S in 48th scale? What would be the easiest route to build that air frame?
  7. That is also a possibility. However, I've been trying to convince Academy into re-tooling theirs!!
  8. Very few markings applied to the Whiskey are form fitting, so almost every decal designed for the Italeri kit should fit this one, so long as KH get's the overall shape correct. When laid over the Bell drawings, the Italeri kit is dead on accurate in outline and shape. The lack of detail is what does that kit in. There is another player in the 48th Whiskey game that I am working with. Their initial reaction was to halt development. I'm trying to convince them it would be a bad idea to do so. Knowing what they're capable of, I am confidant a better Whiskey can be done.
  9. Nope, I have nothing to do with KH. I offered to help on multiple occasions a few years ago and it wasn't accepted. They have a couple of others on their team that are familiar with the aircraft though.
  10. They posted an image of the box top on their FB page. No other details that I'm aware of, other than it appears to be a late NTS bird with the turned exhaust. No release date given.
  11. I kind of like Marine Aviation subjects......just a little bit.
  12. Yeah, but don't forget about the bashers bashing the bashers that are bashing the bashers! Those guys are too much! Oh, and F-14's are still stupid! 😄
  13. It's a new kit that did extremely well upon its release (Academy sold out the entire first run and many retailers sold out within hours of receiving their kits). Hell, I won't get my sheets back from Microscale until the end of June and I've already sold 75% of the print run! While it is doing very well, I still wouldn't put it in the "most popular" category. It's popular among those that build modern military subjects, but not with all modelers across the board.
  14. Very subjective and you'll never get a real answer....just opinions. First two subjects thrown out there? Tamiya F-14 and any Bf-109......I couldn't care less about both. What's popular or favored among one group, is disliked and discounted by another. Enjoy what YOU like about the hobby and don't worry about what others like or dislike.
  15. Not necessarily. You can use the stencils on the kit decal sheet. The main difference is mine are a bit more thorough as they include all of the access panel numbers.
  16. Announcement has been updated - art file is now with Microscale!
  17. Pre-order link is HOT for FL35001! From the emails and retailer inquiries, this sheet is going to move fast! Expected ETA for release is middle to end of June according to Microscale's time table. Placement guides will be posted throughout the week and are going to the printer on Friday. https://www.flyingleathernecksdecals.com/p/fl35001-marine-skid-kid-zulus--ah-1z--pre-order FL35001 Marine Skid Kid Zulu's - 19 options, at least one from each HMLA and a few attached to MEU's. - Stencils for the LAU-7
  18. You're right.....you following model builds trumps my personal experience with the real item. My bad. Continue to use what makes you happy and have a great weekend.
  19. I worked on the real MER and TER for 5 years and can guarantee from first hand experience the Aerobonus items are not the best.
  20. The most accurate MER's available are those that come in the Revell A-6E kit, or the Academy F-4J. Stay away from both the Eduard and Aerobonus items.
