  1. Hello everyone, Well after kicking out 6 72nd scale Hasegawa F-16s, 1 SH-60F, and 2 Fujimi Phantoms, my mojo for this kit is flowing again! I tried something different this time around, and the results were disasterous. I decided to spray some Krylon Fusion white paint & primer straight out of the can on the fuselage thinking that it might help with painting at a later point having the fuselage already white. I did a couple of test sprays on some spare parts, and it worked fine. However, when I sprayed the fuselage, it literally ruined it! AARRGHHH! Back to the she
  2. Hi everyone, I too have been having this same problem when trying to order from ResKit. Every time over the last few days that I've tried to place a $300 order, I kept getting that error message. I finally emailed ResKit and like fellow ARC'er cruiz (post above), they sent me a paypal link to make payment, and it worked just fine. Not sure what the problem is though, but I'm glad the link worked. I couldn't resist stocking up on all of that lovely resin! Fred K.
  3. Agreed! I ordered three of the G's from Hannants last week as soon as they came out. I too am interested to see what kind of magic Kursad works up for this kit! Fred K.
  4. Hi Glynn, Can you shoot me a message please? I tried to send you one, but it keeps telling me that you can't receive messages. Thanks, Fred.
  5. Hi everyone, I'm currently finish off a 72nd Hasegawa SH-60 kit that I started many years ago. During this process, I noticed that the horizontal stabilizer, part A7, had disappeared on me. Does anyone happen to have a spare? I will buy, or trade for one. I'm in the US. Thanks! Fred K.
  6. Hi Mike, Thanks for the intel! I will check out the True North paints. In the meantime, I have decided to pick up the Tamiya gloss and flat white, and will play around with the mixing them to get the desired sheen that I want. I have always had a passing interest in airlines, but just couldn't get into 1/144th scale. I model mostly 1950's and later military aircraft in 72nd scale, so the 1/144th scale airliners just weren't fitting in. Although I can certainly see why the smaller scale would appeal to most folks..... those 72nd airliners are big! But then BPK cam
  7. Hi Joe, I haven't completely given up on the Fusion white just yet. I'll de-cant it, and try it that way later. I'm pretty sure that my mistake was shooting it straight from the can. In the meantime, I've picked up some Tamiya gloss and flat white from Sprue Brothers, and will mix them 50/50, and give that a go. Thanks for your input! Fred.
  8. Hi Joe, Krylon Fusion was the paint that I used on the kit that made a big mess. The problem was that I sprayed it straight from the can. It might have behaved better had I de-canted it. Test sprays showed it work good from the can, but on the model... nope! I'm still sanding the fuselage out and have to rescribe a bunch of panel lines after that fiasco! I'm thinking that I'll go with the Tamiya white laquer. Anything special that I should thin it with? Being a laquer, it should work fine with the MRP Boeing gray color that I'll be shooting on the wings. I've had pr
  9. I was eyeballing Tamiya. I've recently tried some of their other laquers and have been pleased with them. Thanks Craig! Fred.
  10. Thanks Steve! Another vote for Mr Color. Fred.
  11. Hi all, I'm getting close to painting my 72nd 737-800, and am struggling to find a good semi-gloss white paint, now that Rustolem (bastards!!) has killed off the Model Master line. A rattle can paint is fine. I tried Krylon's appliance white straight from the can, and was that ever a mistake! I'm still sanding out my 737 after that mess. Suggestions? Thanks, Fred K.
  12. Talk to Jim at Aeromask..... He's done a bunch for me and his masks are top quality. HTH, Fred K. http://www.advmodprds.com/aeromasks2.html
  13. Hi Andrew, I just looked at the D kit that I have and it looks like the pod is the side by side one. The kits bags are sealed, and I'd like to keep them that way, as there is no way I'll ever build everything in my stash, and will need to do a big sell off at some point. However, the instructions show the part as being a resin part, which isn't in the kit that I can see, so it looks like I might be trying to find one too 😂 Doesn't ResKit or someone make one? So it looks like I'm not going to be able to help you out. Sorry! Fred.
  14. Hi Andrew, Is the D pod a part that is "extra" in the Hasegawa A kit? I've got a ton of spares from the A kit and should have it if that's the case. Regards, Fred K.
  15. Hi all, I've got two of the Revell 72nd F-16C Block 50/52 kits, and one of their F-16A MLU kits. I much prefer the simpler Hasegawa Viper kits and thought I'd throw out a trade option before they go to ebay. All kits have their box open, inner bags sealed, and are complete and not started. I am interested in the same condition in trade. I'd like to trade them, one for one, for either the Hasegawa 72nd F-16CJ/Block 50 kit or the F-16ADF kit. I will also consider the standard F-16C kit. I'd like to keep any trades limited to the US due to postage cost
  16. Hi everyone, I recently picked up a bag kit that ended up being short a few parts. I need the main gear bulkheads, parts B5 & B6. If anyone used the Aires or CMK resin gear well set for their kit and has these parts to spare, that would be great. I'm also in need of a B/D canopy. I'm in the US and will buy, trade, or accept donations. Thanks! Fred K.
  17. According to the kit release table over at Cybermodeler, it's due out in November. HTH, Fred K.
  18. I'm really looking forward to seeing these done in 72nd scale! Specifically sheet 48-024. Thanks, Fred K.
