  1. Oh, and I completely forgot to mention that the first coat was done with Revells Acryllic Aluminium 99 on this model, then followed by the second and final coat of silver 90. HAJO
  2. Thank you for the nice words! I have to say that brushing silver is not that hard, at least that´s the way I feel. The only problem you´ll get is when the surface is bad, like having parts where a lot of sanding was done without proper cure of the surface. One strange thing I noticed some weeks ago was that the very old models I did years ago, where parts haven been painted with Revells silver 90, look like real metal, with sometimes even mirror-like effects. I have never been able to replicate that effect with Humbrols silver 11 I used in the past few years or the Revell acrylics 90. The
  3. And some details: As you can see, I did some of the changes the HH-71 has in contrast to the EH-101, but also left away some of them. Here you can see a perfect compromise: While the HH-71 does indeed has a left-side gunner, the gunner-position itself is not "a full door", but only a slide-window. You can see I kept the full door, but attached some security belts to prevend the gunner from falling out. This picture shows the additional flare/chaff-launcher (scratchbuilt) and the changed slide-door layout. While "normal" Merlins have a door that opens up to the front of the aircraft, the H
  4. My current project is one of the three CSAR-X contenders for the USAF - although I read in the news some days ago that among the many cancelled military programs in the US are the plans for "a rescue helicopter for the Air Force". So it looks like the USAF has to keep it´s aging HH-60Gs for a while. Anyway, after my first CSAR-X, the HH-47 (Finished: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....105799&hl=; In-Progress: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....c=99361&hl= ), I decided to build the HH-71, using Revells EH-101 Merlin HC.3. Since this was some kind of "one-week-proj
  5. And the finished helicopter! First set of pictures, the winch is still missing: Second set, beeing a little bit more "creative": HAJO
  6. This is my latest Merlin, built out of the VH-71 kit by Italeri. I bought that kit mainly because I wanted to use the decals for a VH-3 "Marine One", so I had a spare EH-101. I decided to build it as a commercial helicopter flying for a fictional company called "Helo-Link", providing shuttle-service for offshore oil-rigs. I started by changing the interior to a more commercial look, mainly adding a lot of seats for the passengers. I "borrowed" some of the seats from an already finished EH-101 and another one that was then waiting for the build. I also changed the front left passenger
  7. Not to mention the listed price for the C-27, it´s over 38 Euros here in germany. Hopefully the kit will pay off by having good details... HAJO
  8. Some close-ups of the jungle-action: HAJO
  9. Can you spot them? There are 4 vehicles in this picture... Too late, they spotted YOU! HAJO
  10. And some company, I bought a french VAB 4x4, kit by Heller: I updated it to a tank-hunter vehicle with a TOW-launcher. And with an older VAB I built some years ago, both are part of my OPFOR. HAJO
  11. Some update: The nearly finished tank: HAJO
  12. Any idea if the installation of a Minigun and a Penguin ASM is realistic on this chopper? HAJO
  13. Some update. The pictures I´m showing now were safely stored on my PC at home, I forgot to upload them before I went out... Well, finally, here they are. They show the decals that I applied and the Future-coat over all dark areas. HAJO
  14. HB in 1/72: No weapons, no cockpit details, no gear details. But excellent fit. Academy in 1/72: Older kit (don´t know the other mentionend Academy-kits), but good fit, full weapon-load, good details. HAJO
  15. Uops, good thing I´m not a banker... I would have ruined my company. Ehm, wait a moment... ;) HAJO
  16. Theses prices are pure horror! What is that in perspective to the Euro? An Academy A-10 costs about 7 Euro here in germany, which would be someting around 5 or 6 US-$... HAJO
  17. Well, I think I´ll kep the AF-grey, since I have a MH-53, a HH-60, a HH-47 (CSAR-X) all in AF-grey. Am I right that so far there has been no decision made about the CSAR-X? HAJO
  18. I´d like to know if there are any regulations or rules on the painting of the current USAF-helicopters. I thought all 3-tone-camoflage had been replaced with the Air Force grey, but obviously at least a couple of HH-60s wear the 3-tone-camo. Here you can see both schemes: Background of my question is: I want to build a WhIf HH-71 (EH-101 Merlin as CSAR-X competitor), and while the current USAF-scheme for HH-60s SEEMS to be AF-grey, the HH-71 is shown with the 3-tone-camo on some pages and AF-grey at others. (Check out the changed design for the side-door and the engine exhausts!) H
  19. Awesome! Really cool looking! Hope everything will work out well! HAJO
  20. I would wait for the Hobbyboss SH-60, it looks pretty good and it already has the Penguin-missile. HAJO
  21. It is close to being finished, the paint is on, also the wings, and I just added all the decals (not seen here in these pics): HAJO
  22. Inspired by Chernaya Akulas BTR with T-80-turret I started my own project, using a Puma in 1/76 scale and a 1/87 M-60 turret. The Puma is a bit too narrow, so I started to make it wider: Here with the turret: And at the end of this day, nearly finished: HAJO
  23. I have used the decals on HBs N/AW-10A and the Mi-8, they were all good! A bit shiny and maybe a bit too bright, but that´s propably exactly what you´d need for your Lynx. HAJO
  24. Hey, this might help: Found it on google, search term "jato", picture search. HAJO
  25. Any progress? I´m going to buy a 1/76 sdKFZ Puma (or whatever it is called...) this weekend and plan to put a 1/87 M60A1 turret on it... HAJO
