Hmm, the sound of a Huey is so unique, I don´t think anyone who sees/hears could be distracted to think it´s a Hind. HAJO

Maybe they used some of the existing OPFOR-equipment of the US Army? HAJO

OK, cockpit and crew are ready, have a look: And then some moe updates: I´m not too happy with main panel, because it leaves too much free space to look through when vieweing from the sides of the aircraft. You need at least to scratch some kind of panel-cover, a pair of cables and stuff will be a also helpful. And then my scratchbuilt port-side pylon for the Penguin. HAJO

OK, I´d like to show you some progress on the helo. So far you can see the finished interiour and two crew figures. The pictures were taken some days before, so I can assure you that in the meantime the crew (consisting of 3 crewmembers, I didn´t had more figures here and the space behind the sensor console is a bit limited) has been finished also. I didn´t do much scratchbuilding here, although some more patient builders could do a lot to make the still nice interiour look really "woooow". Some friendly ARC-member gave me an excellent link to the original aircraft, just have

Original pictures of SH-60B HSL-47 "Saberhawks"
Hajo L. replied to Hajo L.'s topic in Research Corner
Excellent, thanks a lot! HAJO -
I´m looking for pictures of the colourfull SH-60B of the HSL-47 that comes in the 1/72 kit of Hobbyboss. The aircraft has a blue tail with an american flag, "Saber hawk" written across the stabilizer and blue numbers (only a "65", no Bu.-No.), blue "NAVY" and "HSL-47". My main interest is if the helos has one grey overall or a darker topside and/or lighter grey belly. Here is a picture of the model: http://www.modelairplaneinternational.com/...7231_boxtop.jpg HAJO

Whoohow, I´d like to see that OV-10! A flexible 20mm or 30mm like in the NOGS-version would do the trick, I think, maybe just use the M230 chaingun of the afromentionend Apache. HAJO

Oh yeah, the "Flying Eye"! I was one of the many lucky spotters who were invited to the presentation of that aircraft on the ground and in the air. Please don´t ask for pictures, I only had a very small digicam and there are already tons of pictures of this Tornado available on the net. HAJO

Hobby Boss 1/72 HH-60H Rescue Hawk early in-box
Hajo L. replied to Robertas's topic in Helicopter Modeling
The "early" HH-60 has the FLIR turret, it´s part of the sprue with the penguin ASM and alll the typical HH-60H-stuff. So don´t worry, do it like me, order the early version and build it as "late" version. :) HAJO -
Awesome, too bad you won´t be able to continue it while in college. As for the SH-60: No, I don´t have that book. It would only tell me how many things I did wrong with my model... ;-) HAJO

Overall one-color scheme ist the "new" scheme for the SH-60s? HAJO

We will both build the same SH-60, I´m also going for the one with the blue tail and the american flag. HAJO

I love the idea for the ammo-chute! Need to use it myself... HAJO

Did you guys also had the problem that when you tried to paint the model the paint wouldn´t stick to it? I´m using the new Revell acrylics and they barely hold on the plastic. I already washed it with soap and water, but I think I need to wash it with alcohol as well. What a waste of stuff... Colour-Question: I just saw the Revell 1/48 SH-60, and it has a darker grey on top of the aircraft. Hobbyboss instructions say only one grey over all of the aircraft. What´s right? One grey for all or two tones, with a darker tone on top? HAJO

Where can I find weapons for a 1/72 MH-53J?
Hajo L. replied to Mike W.'s topic in Helicopter Modeling
Try Roco. They do a lot of things for 1/87 scale, but the weapons look great on 1/72 models. HAJO
