Serelle
Others may confirm that, but if I remeber correctly, P-51B/C had the plywood floor. Early P-51/A were the ones wich actually had the upper wing structure as a floor, that's why the "curved" metal floor. Serelle

Slartibartfast
Allison-engined Mustangs used the wing upper surface for the cockpit floor. Due to engineering changes needed to fit the Merlin, the P-51B and later aircraft had a plywood cabin floor.
AX 365
But did they paint the plywood like the rest of the interior of did they leave it a natural and unpainted...
DonSS3
IIRC they were basic plywood covered in black "non-skid" material. In heavy wear areas, the non-skid could get worn away revealing the plywood underneath.

Murph
But did they paint the plywood like the rest of the interior of did they leave it a natural and unpainted... The common wisdom, based IIRC on tech orders, is that they were painted in non skid black paint. Most restorations show an unpainted wooden floor though.
