modelman62
are those Iwata sprint jet compressors any good?
MarkW
Yes, but the Smartjet is better. Smartjets have auto off, and an extra coiled airhose that eliminates any cahnce of pulsation. You could hook a Sprintjet up to a foot switch to deal with the lack of auto off.
Grey Ghost 531
I've got a SmartJet and am very happy with it. It's very quiet when it runs and it only runs when I push the air button on the brush. It's only a little louder than an aquarium air pump.

RotorheadTX
I've got a Smart Jet, and I love it! After years of using those loud Craftsman/Harbor Freight type compressors, I finally broke down and spent the money on the Iwata. I'll never go back; no more jumping out of my skin when the motor kicks on, and I can paint any time of the day or night without bothering other people in the house. Be patient, compare prices, and watch the sales at Hobby Lobby and Jerrys Artarama - I managed to get one at 60% off "normal" retail!
theseeker
I have a Power Jet Pro and I swear by it. It's probably overkill for most people, but it is outstanding.
