Siamese11
greetings fellow modelers. I'm starting on my two 1/32 SU-27's after getting Zatcoman's correction set and all the goodies and have both Avionx and Aires cockpits. I also have Eduard big set which has the colored instrument panel to me which looks like pale blue. I have looked on the internet for pictures and thru books and have Kagero SU-27 book which has color pictures but it doesn't look anything like the color of Eduard's set. It looks like it is more of a green/blue color. Can anyone help me as to what the correct color of the cockpit should be? Is there a close color out there a person can buy or am I going to have to mix paints to get the color?
Jennings
I've never seen a Sukhoi product with a blue-green cockpit. Every photo of a Sukhoi I've seen has a medium grey cockpit, much like US aircraft. FWIW, Eduard's color photo etch stuff is usually way off the mark IMHO. Their US interior green usually looks like lime green. J
Sebastijan
it should be very light blue, almost grey...

Linden Hill
'Faded Gray/Blue'. AKAN 73069, to be precise! http://www.lindenhillimports.com/akan.htm
B-1 Nut
If you google images "Su-27 cockpit" it will return several photos. http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&...=21&ndsp=21 Seems the cockpits on an Su-27 are about like the radome on an F-16......pretty much anything within reason goes. secondparttohell
Just a side question, I look at the AKAN color set for Su-27 and they look pretty accurate but since they are water-based acrylic then you have to paint them by brush ? I am not really sure about this because I read it on Narita's website that acrylic color is not suitable for airbrushing :-?? http://naritafamily.com/howto/paint.htm
Kalashnikov-47
You should be able to thin and airbrush them. Use distilled water. Guy will be the expert here since he sells these paints.

Siamese11
Bolshoi spasybo, Patrick. Thin them with distilled water, and fire away. Simples. Thanks everyone for the help. It looks like I can order the paint from Linden Hill ( AKAN 73609 ) to get the correct color of the Ukrainian SU-27's interior.
