Just finished one!

I got the kit in Shanghai in a local model shop. The guy there was VERY nice and helpful. The price for the kit was surprisingly not much less than if I'd buy it via mail order in the Luckymodels shop. Or to say it that way: it was very expensive for a Chinese kit in Chinese hobby shop.

The parts and everything looks like an easy build. But that was definitely not the case! The biggest problem areas are the intake to fuselage fit, the exhaust to fuselage fit, and the wing to fuselage fit. It's not a beginner’s kit if I may say so. Second probably no one of us has the Chinese colours just ready at hand. I needed some research to find suitable matches in the Vallejo range.

Built, I like it very much, as it has really nice forms, looks "sexy" and remembers me the holidays I had in China.

A kit with some tweaking to be build, but a cool addition to your collection once finished.

Enjoy!

Ah, and forgot to mention: there are about 1'000'000'000 decals for the panel stencils.

Have fun!

Ah, yea, and I know: compared to the pictures you find, the model is a bit too dirty. But just wait: in 3-4 years you will all see those dirty J-10A's!

That is nice work. Paint job is great. :tease:

I see only one thing that you could work with: Remove the middle seam line on the canopy. Yes, it might feel dangerous, but with right tools it will be ok. I recommend to invest in "MicroMesh", it is sanding paper, but ultra fine. Up to 12 000.

Aha, you learn something new every day. I would have easily dismissed it being a seam.

It isn't "yours" version, but it is pretty clear in these pictures:

Yea, it is somewhat difficult to find good pics of that plane. But research is part od our hobby, isn't it?

If you look, I did actually remove the first part (maybe 1/4 inch) of the seem line on the cockpit window. Like it is on the single seater. Now I see that the double seater has tzhe full seem going down unitil the frame. Learned something, again!

yeah! nicely done Skyraider!

i really liked the j-10.

interesting story about the canopy seam... (my move would have been to remove it all... and paint the line... before dipping the piece in future... as this fairing seems pretty thin and have very little "relief")
