VG 33
Hello I've started working on my little NiD 622. This is a 1/72 kit from Azur. It will be one of the Aéronautique Navale, Escadrille 3C2 stationed at Marignane (near Marseille south of France) in 1935. The cockpit is well furbished with some resin parts and a metal etched harness. The general colour is dark blue grey. The dust as since disappered as it comes from a little filing to get the fuselage closed. Patrick
El pibe vitina
Glad to see this French beauty in our GB! Bye for now...
VG 33
Hello A liitle progress around the fuselage this week. With time and some cyano everything is possible. Patrick
mawz
That's coming along quite nicely!
johnsan
Nice work, Patrick. That cockpit detail sure disappears with the fuselage joined up.
Bonehammer73
That was quite a save on the cowling fit... it looked dreadful but you managed not to lose any detail. Good job!
The Mikester
Nice save!
Old Man
Glad to see you making good progress on this, Sir! It is a very striking aircraft. I was very glad when this came out, as it is a real improvement on the old Heller, which for someo dd reason got the nose weirdly wrong....
VG 33
Hello I've put the short wing and the horizontal tail. For the latter I had to fill the engraved lines of the metal tail normally for the NiD 52. Patrick
Old Man
Coming along nicely, Sir! That lower 'wing' does look funny on its own....
VG 33
Hi Very little progress last week-end. I added the vertical tail. I modified the horizontal tail with a small filet before I saw on some pictures of the 622 and I dropped the elevator. Patrick
VG 33
Hi Nearly three months later I'm back on business. I put the landing gear struts and I've started painting the rudder. Pics to come. Patrick
VG 33
As promised a couple of pictures and I have to hurry before the dead line. Patrick
VG 33
I've just painted the flag : directly blue (15109) and next red (Humbrol 19). Proportions are 1/3 each of the maximum width. I prefer painting the flags as the decals are seldom the perfect shape of the rudder. VG 33
I added a small intake just behind the propeller above the engine cowling. It's made of aluminum sheet taken from a coffee pot. Next I painted the cover of the engine in gunmetal. Patrick
johnsan
Looks really good, Patrick. At your current pace, you should have no problem finishing on time.

VG 33
Thank you. Last night the Alclad gun metal went off with the Tamiya tape masking so once again on the bench painting. Patrick
VG 33
Hello I've progressed on my work. Aluminium on the engine cowling : I added some scratch with the oil tank and radiator under the engine. The small thing under the pilot is unknown from me but we can see on pictures : The wires for a little rigging : I masked the aluminium areas : I put some photo-etched parts under the upper wing : And finally I added the elevator with a small drop : Patrick
VG 33
Painting, first part ! Some pre-shading : dark grey on the upper surfaces : I have to wait one day now as the paint is from Xtracolor and needs at least 12 hours drying. Patrick
VG 33
She's now painted. Patrick
