maurizio
HI gents, finishing the Tamiya Mig-15 WIP I would share with you this new topic. As I told you before the model is done and here is a preview as well as the books I've used as reference, the Tauro Model decals and those printed by myself for the numbers. flanker76
Ciao!!!!grande come sempre... But what about your 104 twin seater?did you stop your building? Complimenti!!!!!
maurizio
Thanks for the congrats. The F-104 are waiting for inspiration and for the new DACO book about F-104... Inspiration cames time to time but the DACO new book has arrived last week. It is now a very strong source of inspiration!!! They must be done within Summer 2014 in any case. More pics of the -84G: tanks with putty around the wings. Rivetting the internal part of the air intake as well as the underwing pylon (everything will be carefully sanded later)
kurnass77
Fantastic job Maurizio! One thing: you riveted the model after the aluminium coat? Gianni
maurizio
Hi Kurnass, thanks for the question. I've rivetted the kit chromed part before and sandpapered later on these 2 particulars. For the fuselage I've sandpapered the chromed surface first and rivetted later. After every rivetting job a light sand job is required. I hope this helps otherwise ask again, no problem mate! cheers Maurizio
maurizio
I've preferred to paint some areas inside the half fuselages. I was unsure about the kit weight for a correct balance during a dry fitting so I've decided to add some more grams of lead.
maurizio
Putty added to some parts of the fuselage joining. Detailing the lower part of the canopy. Edited November 16, 2012 by maurizio

maurizio
Gloss black on: ALCLAD Alumnium - sorry I forget to play some pics.... - Masking job first and applying later a TIXE brand alu paint on some panels for different shades of NM. After the ALCLAD coating I've found the the top spine wasn't puttied well so I was obliged to remade the work.... Edited November 22, 2012 by maurizio
Girolamo LORUSSO
really nice Maurizio ... See you soon Best wish Girolamo
Eric2020
Looking very good Maurizio . Are you not affraid to damage the alclad as that is sensitive to other paints and glues of tape. I hope it turns out well for you. Edited November 22, 2012 by Eric2020
maurizio
Thanks Girolamo for your kind comment. This is the one you've seen at the Udine model contest. To Eric: Alclad paints are very strong and the tape I used is very soft. The tape and the glue are from mais and I'm used to pass the tape on some surface for some times in order to remove a little bit of glue. I've let that kind of tape on my F-16 canopies for 15 months and after this time the canopies are still perfect. Here is the final result after the tape removal:

maurizio
Thanks Eric again, Masking job for the spine (dark green): ...and for the wheels bays: I didn't took to much care of the interior part of the wheels bays (see the not puttied wheel bay on the front gear).
