The Madhatter
Hi guys I know I'm probably wasting my time adding this threads to this part of the forum seeing as no one comes here let alone comments (the last one in this area was 20th October!) but here is my latest work I have just finished my version of Trumpeter's 1/35 BR-52. It's finished in a self-designed "forest Splinter" scheme - something different other than the usual Black or grey/yellow scheme Trumpeter offer you. The way figure it, there were over 6000 of these made during WW2, so who knows exactly what was done with them all ;)/>/> Anyway, it was 9 months or so of hard work and on more than one occasion, it almost ended up in the drawer of doom. However, perseverance has paid off and it has resulted in my best work to date. AM list was small but extensive - Eduard "Big Ed" PE set, LZ Models resin set, Armor 35 Coal and lots of time spent filling ejector pin and mold shift marks. I did scratch up a few things here and there, like the cab floor, light bulbs around the walking boards and air lines etc. It did have an active SMD in the roof space if the cab but I accidentally shorted it out last night and it is no more. Anyway, this is my first ever steam loco and also my last. Next up in a few months time will be the K5 railroad gun part 2 in a minute
The Madhatter
Part 2 Well, that's it for now. I'm about to start the 1/35 K5 Railroad gun tonight, so that'll be another few months worth of work. Any and all constructive criticism is welcome thanks for looking MH Edit: oops - forgot to add the link for the full WIP which is here: http://madhatterscaleworks.blogspot.com.au/ Edited November 18, 2014 by The Madhatter

GEH737
Very nice job - I picked up one of these BR52's and the Leopold rail gun at a great deal at the local hobby store. Always good to try on something else for size :)
The Madhatter
Thank you gents for the kind posts. Im sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I don't visit this site much any more. A train is a nice change of subject for me as well and I still have the K5 to build but I need a break from things on rails for the time being. This engine sucked a lot of modelling mojo from me I hope to see your work when you commence it GEH737
oggy
Nice BR52. I heard that kit was difficult to put together. I just finished the HB 1/72 version, it wasn't easy either. As soon as I find the camera, I will post some pics.
