2qwik4u
Looks like we lost a couple more F-16's yesterday in a midair. Both pilots appear to be ok. Link -Dave

Don
Yep, jets can be replaced but the humans inside can't. Glad to hear the pilots are o.k. .
11bee
Yep, jets can be replaced but the humans inside can't. Glad to hear the pilots are o.k. :thumbsup:/>. Technically, the jets can't be replaced since the AF will not be purchasing any new F-16's. Regardless, the important thing,as noted above, is that both pilots got out and are ok. Jinxter13
The fact that both pilots made it out and settled back to Terra Firma via the silk elevator makes this a lot easier to discuss, thank the good Lord for that; another good take from this is that the latest accident occurred over a military range, lessening the chance for civilian casualties at the crash sites . It seems for those who've been around long enough, that an old belief (superstition for some) is holding it's own against the folks who don't adhere to it, and say it's all rubbish. That old belief is that crashes come in threes, well like it was said it's been a bad week for Hornets and Vipers, by my count we're outta da woods for a while, hopefully a verrrrry lonnnnnnnnnng while. A lot of tax dollars are in the ground, but maybe, just maybe that Thunderbird Viper can be brought back....though I doubt it, it'll probably be written off and a bird that may have been headed for AMARC will get a new lease with the T-Birds; regrettably the other three aircraft won't have that kind of option. The USAF AIB's should have their business handled in a timely manner since they will have the pilots input regarding the causes. They might be able to salvage some parts, once they get it back to a(the) base, and tear it down, engines aren't cheap, and a dollar save is....you know the rest. pollie
So that's three Block 52 F-16s in a single week? Hmmm :o
Niels
Thunderbirds are back up flying today according to Combat Aircraft magazine.
Tony Stark
A lot of tax dollars are in the ground, but maybe, just maybe that Thunderbird Viper can be brought back....though I doubt it, The longerons broke at the cockpit during impact. The jet will be written off and most likely used for parts.
