phantom
Yet another one for this GB. I think this might be number 20. Again built for someone else. This is one of Hobby-Craft worse kits. The CT-142 Dash 8 with Leading Edge decals and a plastic Gonzo radar nose.
Rick McPherson
Paint bottle weight maybe.
phantom
Yep, All ready checked. It fits. Surprising it has more room then the Caribou did. Hope to get at it tomorrow.
phantom
Support beams in place to hold the empty paint bottle in place.
phantom
Super glue needed on this warped fuselage.
phantom
Well, having the same problem with this kit that I had with mine. The windsheild just does not fit. So I will fix it the same way I fixed mine. Black paint. Which actually works well in 1/72.

phantom
Had to take off and reset the weak landing gear. The kits holes were very shallow and offered zero support.

Trojan Thunder
I have 2 or 3 of these in the stash, looks like I am in for some fun when I tackle them.
phantom
At work today I thought of a couple things that might improve the landing gear. I will try to do some more fixing on Saturday.

Rick McPherson
Looking great. Not being critical but there's a little blue over spray in the exhaust vents.
phantom
I did not see that! Easy fix!!
Trojan Thunder
Nice work again Shaun, have this conversion in the stash as well. Might find its way on to one of my Dash 8s Edited November 20, 2017 by Trojan Thunder

Rick McPherson
Do you happen to have a 1/72 Pinocchio nose in that stash that you would like to sell?
phantom
No, what I am doing (in 1/48) is grafting a CF-104 nose direct from a Hasegawa kit. Have the decals all ready and a DC-3 to put them all on......Just need the time to do it. If you can find a trash 1/72 Starfighter I can make the Electric dak for you. Oh, and the decals in 1/72. RCAFFAN
For info purposes, you can't just graft an F-104 nose radome on the C47, there is an adaptor section piece between the two....(I know because I provided an old 1/72 Hasegawa 104 nose radome to Dave Koss but he had to scratch build the section between before he cast the noses for his Pinocchio set. The front of the piece is the radome diameter while the rear is the diameter of the nose of the C47 when the front nose hatch is removed and the angle is different than that of the radome) Edited November 21, 2017 by RCAFFAN

Took a bit of fiddling, and was not perfect, but was in the "close enough" category for me. ALF
RCAFdad
My son just graduated in Winnipeg as an AESOP on the dash 8 Gonzo. Would anyone have the nose cone and decals I could buy off you? I really want to make him a model. So proud of him. Thanks. Ed
