Heater
And here is the second layer of plaster. Some areas haven't been covered yet due to.....insuficient ammount of plaster . So the entire project is postponed till monday. Here is the shelter with the second layer : And here is how it will look with an aircraft inside. The interior of the shelter will be covered too . Any ideas on were i can find small items like barrels, fire extinguishers etc are very welcomed B) Edited July 2, 2005 by Heater
Dimosthenis
Great Job! Kosta, I think that HAS interior is covered by some sort of insulation that has a wavy shape (like an oscillation). I think evergreen has in their styrene range of products a similar product, tho I'm not absolutely sure. What material do you plan on using for the HAS front 'cave-doors'? Heater
Dimo for the interior insulation i will use a kind of paper that has this wave shape in one side. I think it will look about right in this scale. Another option is to use milliput and a bit of sculpturing to achieve the effect. As for the doors, these will be made from plastic . GMK
Heater, Firstly - very nice build! As for the lining of your HAS, do a google search for "AMRI", a company that specialises in architectural supplies. They do lightweight (read easy to curve) corrugated aluminium sheeting in a big range of sizes. Hightly recommended. Good luch with the rest of the build!

Heater
After a week working on the shelter i finaly managed to almost.......(the nose cone needs painting) finish off the camo on the PI. Today i painted the canopies and made some touchups here and there. Below you'll see the almost final result of the camo...minus the decals and the weathering Top side : Front side......with IFF blades in place : Side view. The metalic painting in the rear fuselage is finished: Now off to the AFDS's built!!!!! Edited July 9, 2005 by Heater
Heater
Started adding the decals on the bird. Used Tamiya's Mr Mark Softer....and ohhh boy.... this stuff is strong!!!! Once you place the decal on it, it is impossible to move it with out destroying it Anyway...here are two pics of the decaling progress so far : Not all the decals are in place.....i'm using the Icarus Decals sheet for the F-4E/RF-4E plus a special decal sheet from the same company with the stencils on the fuselage. Heater
Yeah....it's getting close......it's just that the small things that are left, that are the most time consuming martin :D The closer it gets the more details i tend to add
Damian
Heater she's a beaut!!! BTW sign me up for a pair of AFDS's if you get them built and are going to sell some!! -Damian

Dimosthenis
I saw three of them overfly Athens today. I was driving and nearly hit onto the bumper of the car in front! One was chasing the other two... Gee, they were like 3000' and you could still choke on that J79 smoke (so probably they were unmodified i.e. non PI2000, but they had the cool 'ghost' camo)! Heater, about your F-4E, it's almost there, I tell you! Go on and finish it! Κώστα, αρχίζω να ψήνομαι άγρια... (PS: pls don't try to translate it in english, you 'll get even more confused! :) ) Edited July 11, 2005 by Dimosthenis

Phantom Phixer
The AUP modification had nothing to do with the engines and/or the camo. You can find non-AUP ghost camo birds. And you can also find AUP Phantoms smoking. Obviously the best option is to have two non-smokers on but engines are engines and you need two of them to fly so it realy depends on what's available to the Base Maintenance Sq. (MΣB in Greek) so it's very commonplace practice to have one smoking and non-smoking engine on. (Μηπως να κανονιζαμε μια συναντηση

Dimosthenis
Well, at first I was thinking that it would save me from making an extra Phantom, because I'd be making a 'blue' F-4E (like I said on the GB site) AND a PI2000. But I can't resist the Ghost scheme so I'll hold my horses and when the time comes (I sure hope that this will be within the GB timeframe) I'll have the PI2000 in 'ghost' scheme.
