heroncreek
Hi all, This model dates from 1992, and was my first attempt at using both pastels and an oil wash for weathering. Also, the decal sheet used was Aeromaster 48-001, their first effort. I'd still like to build at least one of the other options on this sheet..... The kit is the original 109G-2 offering, with separate cowl scoops. Model Master enamels and Testors clear coats were used...thanks for taking a look at some of my older models (that have survived cross country moves no less! :D ) Dan
D_IcarUS_
Nice work. Love the weathering work you've done.
Bri2k
That's one sweet build Dan! I particularly like aircraft in the markings of smaller airforces. Thanks for sharing your pics with us. Bri2k
heroncreek
Hi all, Thanks again for the comments, I really do enjoy building the more "obscure" C&M, especially on an aircraft like the 109. if I ever get to another 109, it'll be either in Italian or Hungarian markings.... ron
Nice, interesting markings. Fory your first attempt at weathering it turned out great Ron
heroncreek
Hi Ron, Thanks again, as well as your comments on the Wildcat. The Hasegawa 109's are a good kit for a starting point for things like weathering, as they are a pretty simple build. That said, it would be nice if we saw a new 1/49 109G that was to the standards of say, the Tamiya P-47. :D Dan
Ken Middleton
Dan, you did a really nice job on that making it look "used". Your weathering came out very nice....and it is a different set of markings - adds some nice color to it. Cheers Ken
heroncreek
Hi Ken, Thanks! I have been tempted to build a Romanian Hurricane as well because of the bright and colorful tail stripes and crosses...... Dan
