  1. Nah, They're starting to retire them and put them up on sticks. The F-22 is replacing the F-117 and the F-15. It's a two for one deal. I have the same kit, and I'm waiting on the Flighpath set now. Paul
  2. I was one of those people that got taken. I saw the article by Paul Boyer and emailed him to find out where he got the kit. I made contact through the internet, gave them my CC #; they took my money and never sent the C-5 kit. I too would prefer a plactic kit. Super detail heaven just due to the size. Would also love to find the E-4B and C-141 kits as well. Paul
  3. OMG ROTF LMAO... You guys are too much. It's why I love this site. I'm having a hard time tearing myself away to go to the model shop. I didn't know the USAF actually "evaluated" the F-14. Thanks for the info. More research is definitely required here. Paul
  4. Being a 1/32nd scale person, I don't really care what's wrong with it. I'll do what I always do. Look at research. Get model, identify known issues, get the aftermarket parts and fix the issues. It's my world. So what if the Air Force never flew the F-14. I don't care. It's a hobby that gives me a great deal of enjoyment. So, that's what I'm gonna do. Enjoy it Paul
  5. I ordered several sets of decals from a store in Arizona I think several years ago. I have the decals for the "Great Artiste", used during the atomic missions, and now sitting on display at the Warrensburg Gate at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. I'll check when I get home to see if I still have the address. Paul
  6. Dang, I was looking to do the same thing with mine. I saw somewhere that the USAF just ordered a bunch of what will be newly built MH-47E Pavelows instead of rebuilt CH-47D's. I think the Air Force just recently retired all of their MH-53J Pavelows. Paul
  7. I stand in awe of you sir. I have one of these in my stash and I've wanted to build the USCG Jayhawk. I'm green with envy. Paul
  8. The Blue Angels actually fly jets that are on the verge of being retired. There was a series about them on the military channel called "A Year In The Life". When that show was filmed, they were flying the old "A" models, and they were pretty beat up when they got to the team. I remember specifically the narrator saying that they only fly jets that have reached the end of their useful life with the fleet. The outside has a pretty paint job after they take the jets apart and practically rebuild everything, but the interiors are pretty beat up. Nice job on the model, I have the 1/6 scale Thunderb
  9. I'm currently in the process of "fixing" the front office of the Trumpeter G Model. I ordered the PE Color Cockpit set from Eduard. When you place the first piece of PE on the front instrument panel, there's a gap at the top and sides of the instrument panel that you will need to grind off to match the profile of the PE piece. In test fitting the cockpit with the PE piece installed and the coaming in place over the top of the forward instrument panel, it then becomes a simple matter to grind off the appropriate amounts of the cover to fit correctly over the instrument panel so the pilot can ac
  10. I'm painting my AIM 54 Phoenix missles all white. Where do you find the VF 111 Sundowner decal? Paul
  11. YES YES YES. Any Big Ed Set is worth getting if you want to add detail to any aircraft you build. I do 1/32 so I spend a lot more money because there just aren't that many aftermarket kits for that scale. If you're doing 1/48th. Take a look at the Eduard web site and you will see what I mean. The instrument panel detail alnoe on the pre painted panels is awesome. Not to mention saving a ton of time. Paul
  12. I opt for the EA-18G Growler, but I still want a 1/32 Intruder and an EA-6B Prowler. Side by side, those would look like a before and after picture. Paul
  13. Thank you to all who responded. A special thanks to Steve who pointed me at Flightpath. Mr. Parkins had exactly what I was looking for and I have placed an order with him. the exhaust nozzle sets are on their way as we speak. I hope I can do the kits justice once I get all of the aftermarket parts I want to put into the kits. Thanks Again. Paul
  14. Greetings, I have the old F-15 D/E Kit from Revell in 1/32 Scale. I also have the 1/32 Scale F-15 C from Tamiya. I need to find two sets of Exhaust Nozzles for both kits. I understand that Cutting edge made a set for both kits but is now out of business. Can anyone assist with another source for these two items. I've found plenty in 1/48th but I need 1/32. I intend to order the Eduard PE set for the 1/32 nozzles, but I can not find the nozzles at all in the scale I need. Any and all suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, Paul
