  1. Charlie, You are spot on. The CMK pit is stream driven cockpit suitable for the T.1 and other Mk.5X/6X Hawks versus the glass cockpit in the 100 series. That R&R set looks good, especially the replacement nose. Does anyone know of any other sources for that set? Cheers, Ed

  4. Jeff, Any chance you can send me some copies of your images? I'm always on the lookout for new Mirage 2000 piccies! Cheers, Ed Mike, Did you have a look at the Monogram kit review on my site and the comments I made on the kit in one of the ARC forum links I posted above? If I recall correctly I made some comments in response to The_Animal who asked a similar question to yours. Essentially, the Monogram kit is the least desirable starting point out of the 1/48 Mirage 2000s. All factors considered, I'd say the Italeri Mirage 2000 is the best bet based on the low UK prices, a
  5. Jeff, Have a butchers here: http://edsaircraft.co.uk/Models/Articles-M...1/variants.html The UAE jets are either EAD/RADs or dash 9s. The quickest way to tell (in the abscence of a diagram on my page!) is whether the aircraft had a pitot tube on the tip of the radome. The RAD/DAD does, whereas the newer -9 doesn't. The EAD is effectively an export version of the C (with some differences) and the RAD is a very similar version but wired to take recce pods on the centerline. The EAD/RAD both flew in the original "desert scheme" as seen below and in the later "Blue/grey" scheme so as al
  6. Mike, An age long question I'm afraid! I started to put this site together to answer some of your questions: http://edsaircraft.co.uk/Models/Articles-M...al/1/index.html However,as you can see there is a lot I never finished. Maybe if I have the time this winter I'll put some more work in. To answer your question, have a read of the followign threads: http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/ind...topic=79945&hl= http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/ind...pic=77081&st=15 http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/ind...&hl=Mirage+2000 http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forum
  7. I have the Heritage set and I'm afraid it is just a GR.1 cockpit with the MMD. However, as the MMD is a seperate PE peice, this does make it really easy to add the MFD. This is unless Heritage have updated the set hince I bought it about a year ago. Regards, Ed
  8. I'm happy to make and sell you a GPS Dome (tiny nub of resin) and some WRM tanks (These will be the kit tanks with the rear portion removed). I suspect my "F-15E Update Set" will retail for £19.99. Still interested? Infact, while I'm casting away, I better produce some future weapons that haven't been invented yet, just to keep on top of things. God forbid we'll have the same situation with the Sniper pod which has been operational on the F-15E for a whole ten months without an aftermarket part being produced. By the way; Twobobs are about to release a Lakenheath F-15E sheet (unfortuantely
  9. Eng, I haven't really kept up with RAF Tonka colour schemes but everything seems up in the air at the moment. I've had a bit of a look on Airliners.net and the following pictures are quite interesting an tend to support what you are saying: Firstly, a comparison with the other anniversary jets: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0851064/L/ Not only does the aircraft look a little lighter, but there is no demarcation just under the airbrake as you would see in the "old" (or is that "old, old" now?). This is hard to see because of the reflection, however this shot shows this much better:
  10. Hi, As far as I know there are no GR3 instrument panels at all. All of the aftermarket parts (Neomega, Eduard, Heritage, Paragon) represent the GR.1 (or equivalent T.2 in Paragon's case). Have a look at Neil's thread here about building the Jagaur T.4 (includes some cockpit shots of the GR.3 and T.4): http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/ind...hl=jaguar&st=45 I'm pretty sure this is an easy scratch build job, replacing the round MMD of the GR.1 with the rectangular MFD. I'm not sure if there are any other cockpit changes however. Regards, Ed
  11. It would have been nice if we had got LGBs and GBU-15s with the standard RoG kit however I don't mind forking out a little extra to bring the kit to a later configuration; afterall, as others have said its inevitable unless a kit is re-issued each year, or even more frequently. I was hoping that this is why RoG have removed the Rafales from the catalogue, so they can be adjusted (Chaff/flare dispensors, weapons, decals) to represent the now in service aircraft. I think the AIM-120 launch rails are a valid point as they were in use well before the kit was released so its a shame they were not

  13. Dave, Last year I asked to buy some individual parts from their 1/72 "MC" Hercules range to use as guides for producing 1/48 parts for a conversion I was doing and I received a very nice reply asking if I'd like to borrow the parts rather than buy them. I took them up on their offer and duly returned them a week later. Not sure why they have not replied to you, but I just thought I'd share my story too. Cheers, Ed
  14. Indeed! This is not striclty correct. To take a more common example of music(mp3) piracy online; even though you are not charging other to get copies of your music, you are still breaking copyright laws to make these copies available to others. One way to think of this is, "Are you depriving the original seller/master maker any revenue by producing your own copies"? Cheers, Ed

    Red Arrows

Yuri, Indeed. I have some good pictures of Frecce Tricolori Mb.339s carrying gun pods and Mk.82s (I wouldn't be surprised if you had already seen them though). Cheers, Ed

    Red Arrows

Yuri, I realise you meant "useless" as in "useless to you", but it is worth knowing that the Red Arrows Hawks are T.1As and therefore able to carry various external stores (30mm gun pod, AIM-9, Rockets and Bombs). I do have a couple of photographs showing AIM-9 armed Red Arrows jets. Cheers, Ed
  17. Willie, I somehow missed your reply last night. Thanks for the information. I think I've identified the parts I need, some of which I can't make myself (bulged bomb bay) and some I can (Weapon Pylons). Hopefulyl Spike will be able to sort me out with one set of parts (Cheers mate!) As for the other, I might just buy anotehr RAF kit and sell the RN example. Regards, Ed
  18. I believe I once read a post from LanceB, who is a bit of a Harrier Guru that normally this well is "closed" once the gear has been lowered, but you can put your hand inside and release a catch to allow the doors to hang down for maintenance. Looking at RAF Harriers, it seems they often sit on the ramp with the doors down, presumbably for the same reason as stated above. Regards, Ed
  19. Cheers Stephen. Very interesting reply. I wonder if any FAA fans would like to trade parts Cheers, Ed
  20. Hi, Essentially, my question is, what should be in the box? I just won one of these from eBay (Including the Flightpath set and Neomega cockpit for 29.99) and I only seem to have two RN Buccaneers with no "RAF" sprues. I not too knowledgable on Buccs or the Airfix kit but I can clearly see I don't have the bulged bombay part, and I think I am also missing the "small" wingtips. Would this be correct if I had two "RN" kits? Is there anything else I'd need to get if I wanted to build a pair of RAF aircraft? Regards, Ed
  21. All, Apologies for the delays, however I updated the site again tonight with another batch of members and some gallery pictures from Sabre! I know someone sent my some F-14A gallery pictures however I can't find them now. I'll look through the enttries and find out who you are and contact you... Once again, apologies for taking so long; work does get in the way! I'll get some in-progress pictures of my 1/48 A-37 uploaded this weekend. Regards, Ed
  22. I'd say that is the nicest example of this kit I've seen so far. Again, I like the weathering, especially the panel lines and the APU exhaust stain. Cheers, Ed
