  1. Good. So I was thinking correctly! -Derek
  2. That would be sweet. Think of all the options you could fit on one sheet since these birds typically didn't carry a lot of markings, especially the -47s and -52s...! -Derek
  3. My Hannants order arrived with my Welsh Models 1/144 Convair C-131 & 1/144 EC-121 Connie decals. Plus some misc. P-51 detail parts (wheels, prop, exhaust stacks, cockpit parts) I want to use to improve my 1/72 High Plains P-51H Mustang. -Derek
  4. Well my 1/144 Welsh Models C-131 kit showed up in the mail yesterday. Upon opening the box, my first impression is that it looks like a nice kit. The resin wings and stabs look nice, as do the metal gear and props. Upon closer inspection, the decals provided are for a C-131A, not a "B" or "D" model as what this is supposed to be according to the box top. I want to check the fuselage length with the drawings in the Ginter book to see what this kit really represents since, from what I can tell, the T-29 series/C-131A had a shorter fuselage that the C-131B and later models. The vac fuselage
  5. Hi Ben, Yes I do have the "B" kit but I haven't started it yet. The fit is kind of rough, eh? How far along are you on yours? I've got a couple of other 1/144 Amodels in the stash but I haven't started any of them... I didn't even know Ozmods had a B-75B out there... Wonder what it's like comparted to the Amodel kit?! -Derek
  6. Thanks for posting these photos Jennings. I too will find these useful for my 1/144 Amodel kit. -Derek
  7. Hi, I'm looking for Fowler 1/72 B-17 decal sheet 7205 - I'm after the Navy PB-1W decals. If you have a copy of this sheet you'd part with, please shoot me a PM. Thanks in advance, -Derek
  8. Not to beat a dead horse but, I'd just about kill for a correct blue shade SAC "milky way" stripe in 1/144 scale. The ones in all of the Academy 1/144 scale kits (R/B-47. B-52, KC-97, etc) for some reason are all too light blue in color. I'm not sure about the B-58 kit but I suspect it's the same way. I don't have one of these kits yet but if I had some neat 1/144 aftermarket decals for it... -Derek :P
  9. Yes! The scaling down to 1/144 of your B-58s, B-47s, B-52s, etc. could fit on one sheet and would be a real shot in the arm to us who build in this scale. Come on Mark, please?! I'm begging here man! Please do give this some serious thought. I'd buy any and all 1/144 multi-engine stuff you put out and I think many others here would too. -Derek
  10. Thanks Rick. Which ones did you build - the C-124 or C-133 maybe? I think I read that only the fuselage is vac and the wings are resin so that sounds pretty good to me. Jennings - are you going to leave me hanging like that?! Come on man! -Derek
  11. Uh oh, why is that Jennings? -Derek
  12. Hi, I just ordered the Welsh Models 1/144 scale C-131B kit from Hannants. I've been wanting a Convair T-29/C-131 for sometime now so I decided to finally go for it. I'm curious to know if anyone here has built one of these Welsh kits before and what their experiences were good or bad (hopefully good!). I've got the Ginter book and some personal photos ready for when it shows up to use for my references. Thanks, -Derek
  13. I e-mailed Mike Grant directly about these decals and he said that he'd reprint the sheet for me, yes! Thanks Mike. If anyone else is looking for this sheet, drop Mike a line. Show him that 1/144 scale can be a decent seller! -Derek
  14. I don't suppose someone has an extra set of these 1/144 Mike Grant decals for sale anywhere? I'd love to just have the "Southern Comfort" markings from this sheet if anyone would be willing to part with it... -Derek
  15. I just saw this and requested my copy. Thanks! -Derek
  16. Here's a few that are sort of close to me. Mineral Wells, TX at the airport: and at the CAF in Burnet, TX: -Derek
  17. I just scored a 1/144 scale set of your B-17 Aero Union decals on E-bay Tim and they look very nice! Now I have something to do with my 1/144 Minicraft B-17G. Speaking of which, has anyone built one of the Minicraft 1/144 B-17s before? I'm assuming it's a re-pop of the old Crown kit? It seems rather crude and I was disappointed when I saw that the waist windows, windows above the cockpit, and the windows in the nose are all simply scribed into the plastic and aren't clear parts. At least I can throw away the crude turrets since they aren't needed on the firebomber. Doing the "speed nose"
  18. Hi, I can add a few. Here's one off of I-20 in Stanton, Texas. She's on a pole in front of Sam's Surplus Store. Can't make out any s/n, looks like an "F" model maybe? This one is UH-1H 65-10014. She's an ex-Ft. Rucker trainer on display at Newman Park in Sweetwater, Texas (with a nice T-33A right next to her). Some *sshole vandals promptly broke all the glass in her within a year of being on display so the windows are all covered over with sheet metal which doesn't look too nice, especially the chin bubbles. This is the Collings Foundation UH-1E BuNo. 153762 that I was lucky eno
  19. R.I.P. Gary. I was fortunate enought to volunteer at Midland for a few days. Working on Fifi was amazing. Best of luck to Dave Miller and crew on their first flight next week (just wish I could be there)! :D -Derek
  20. That's terrible - what happened? Are you sure? I really liked it as well. -Derek
  21. Looks like another winner Mark. I'm still holding out for some 1/144 stuff... -Derek
  22. Hi, Subject says it all, I'm looking for the 1/144 Minicraft EC-121 kit. I have a small stash to offer in trade or I can pay for it via paypal. Please shoot me a PM if you can help. Thanks, -Derek
  23. Hi, I’m hoping that someone here has some high-resolution photos of any QF-100D drones with their canopies painted over. I’m specifically looking for more photos of drone 56-3195 but I'd love to see any others. I’ve got the photos of her from F100.org and also the photos from the AIRtime Publishing book “Century Jets†but all are rather small. If someone here can help me out with some better photos I’d be forever grateful. I’m going to build this jet using the Hasagawa 1/72 kit. Since the kit has no cockpit to speak of, I figured that a painted over canopy drone would be a n
