I have been waiting for a re-release of the kit, but it does not look like it is happening anytime soon. Without a re-release of the kit, I am not sure I can move another 500 sheets. An E-2C/D sheet is more likely.

CD48172 is sold out. Thanks for your interest in this one - remember it has been reprinted once already. With the demise of Kitty Hawk, I don't think I will have a chance to reprint any of the FJ-2/3 sheets anytime soon. I think CD48172 sold out before others primarily because of the prototype schemes - get yours while the resellers still have it in stock.

Folks, there are too many D and F's I would like to do, and I think two separate sheets (one for -D and one for -F) are needed here. I am a bit concerned about having too many F-111 sheets (I have done the -A, -E, EF-111A, and two different FB-111A sheets so far!) ; but you seem to have liked what I have done so far and I hope you will buy these, too. The -D sheet will be coming first, with the -F coming soon afterwards.

I believe I already announced a F-111D/F sheet some years back - I am working on it and it will include overall gray Cannon jets.

I designed the 1/144 sheet partly in order to be ready for the Kinetic kit when it is released - so rest assured that the sheet will be scaled up when the kit is out there. I am not planning a second 1/144 sheet before the current one is sold out, but when I do it it will include a few foreign special schemes and the US units I left out in the first sheet.

I agree - but I can't help thinking that the EP-3E incident could have been avoided by taking better precautions. Even the publicly available redacted version of the EP-3E incident damage assessment report is pretty damning, and I am sure there is more that we don't know. Anyhow - back to decals: I will try to include markings for some EP-3E but I think I already have too much material for a single sheet.

What a colossal mess that incident was - I hope one day we will learn the true magnitude of how much crucial intelligence material and technology was compromised there.

Which schemes do you need?

It looks like the April Fools' Day joke is on me - I was not able to send this sheet to be printed on time. An international reseller mentioned that something on the draft sheet could be offensive in his country. The revisions are finished but it won't be ready on time. Good thing I did not announce it on the Web site - it looks like we will start this in 2024 and not this year.

The 1/72 sheet is also here - I just did not have time to unpack them and take photos. I hope to be able to enable preorders of the new batch in the first week of April.

Really nice - and it's 1/72, too!

For most designers it is much easier to draw a bounding box around the marking and use that as the basis of the film carrier shape. For a marking of this size I must have opted to do a simple bounding box. For larger, more complex shapes I often try to leave as little film as possible around the edges.

Great - I am looking forward to getting some help from you so I can put together those overdue KC-135A/E/R sheets in 1/144. On a different note, can one of you photograph the Academy B-52 tail next to a ruler and snap a high-resolution photo from straight above with a smartphone?

That sounds so appealing, but requires a lot of research to find serial numbers and possibly nose art for each unit. Maybe if we start now, sometime later this or next year…
