  1. I have both nozzle sets and the wheel well set for Hasegawa. Couldn't find the well set for Academy but I'm sure I have it. Any way the nozzle sets are different. Everything between the 2 sets are different although the exhaust petals are almost identical except for the interior surface and the scribing on the outside. Academy on the left, Hasegawa on the right.
  2. Aires has sets for both the Hasegawa and Academy F-22s. You don't suppose they got mixed up somehow? I have both, I'll have to check.
  3. I have this set too and thought something was not quite right when I first got it. You're right about having to be over the ammo boxes but the problem is the bay bay is not quite deep enough. If you match the access hatch to the radio room on the other side you'll see it's almost at knee level on the real deal, while on the kit it's almost at shoulder level. Not a big deal with the turrets out but if you wanted to do something different it wouldn't work. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/91/c0/4c/91c04c6c7d99ae22fda093dd432e039d.jpg note the height of the back of the turret.
  4. Check your Refs, I think you have your guns on the wrong side of the bay. The guns should fold down with the tops facing each other, not enough room the way you have them. http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/aircraft/Convair-B36/IMAGES/turrets-convair-b36.jpg
  5. Could be both. My copy of the 1968 version of the T.O. 1-1-4 paragraph 3-16 states that black may be used as a substitute for blue. 3.16. GENERAL SPECITICATION FOR USAF STANDARD IDENTITICATION MARKRIGS FOR AIRCRAFT AND MISSILES. Vertieal Block (Chamfered Gothic) type letters and arabic numerals shall be used when applying identification markings. See figure 3-3 for construction of letters and numerals. Unless otherwise specified herein, insignia-blue, Color No. 15044, will be used on alumininized or white surfaces; either gloss enamel, Specification MIL-E-7729, or lacquer, Specificat
  6. In my experience there are no humvees, or tactical vehicles of any sort on the AF flight line, and I've been on a lot of them. You still see the typical blue pickups(not necessarily AF blue), SUVs, white GSA vehicles sometimes and the typical white patrol cars as well as the maintenance vans. If the SF folks had humvees at all they would be limited to the perimeter or any place they would need an off road capability. Even when I was in the middle east, I never saw humvees on the flight line where I was at. The reason I think is they were to much of a gas guzzler to idle all day, and pretty unc
  7. Check again my fine friend, both Amazon and Scale Hobbiest are US companies, shipping from the U.S. Face it, the kits a dog, no matter how you slice it. You can excuse it all you want but it won't change the FACTS. Will I build a couple sure, when I can get them at fire sale prices like that other great new kit, the Hobby Boss F-80. ( I just got one for 22 bucks)

  9. Yeah but I'd expect a little more for a $50 kit. It seems the quality is going down instead of up. Monogram still rules the roost as far as Voodoos go!
  10. I've been following these voodoo threads closely. Check out these pix of the derelict at Edwards AFB. If you look at the some of the last pix in the group you can see a fairing was removed showing the leading edge of the wing and the intake. Looks to me like this was one of the early version intakes with the extra kink in the wing. It also looks like you could easily mod to the later version. Interesting at the very least! Also I have read that the inner wing fence is not actually a fence but a stiffening piece of metal over the wheel well. As far as i can tell, these were only on the
  11. Actually, they've been stealthily doing this for some time with the associate program, where a guard unit has no a/c assigned to it, and becomes part of an AFRC or Active AF wing. At some point I believe the Guard will only be a manpower pool with no equipment assigned.
  12. Ok, If I read your post verbatim, you can't do what you want to do with the DVD PLAYER. You would need a DVD recorder which is what has replaced the VCR. You would need to find one with an F connector(RF) input, I think most DVD Recorder/VCR combos should have the inputs you need. HTH.
