  1. We must make many new topics to fight those bday wishes down! LOL No yelling, now. I didn't actually do it - just replied! (Happy Dancing that forums are back!)
  2. Awesome, sir! Let me know when they are available to order.
  3. Just received my HobbyBoss F-111 RAAF "Pig" and today have started washing the sprues (it will take awhile... dang lot of parts!) and I am hoping that some of the ARC experts can suggest an aftermarket wheel set that would work reasonably well for an Aussie Pig 111. The kit has those despicable rubber/vinyl tires that I just cannot stand. I haven't been successful in my searches for wheels - resin or otherwise. If no actual F-111 "upgrade" set of wheels exists, is there another aircraft that does have AM wheels available that would be "close enough for Gov't work" in appearance on an Aussie
  4. YAY! Now.. a moment of sad bitterness... If I had not been a layoff 7 years ago, this would have been MY plane to work on the crew training for. ANYWAY, 767s under the bridge I guess. Aside from that personal whine, I am delighted that Boeing got it (again). I have too many concerns about having any major military equipment supplied by a foreign country... especially any with a precedent for withholding delivery of military equipment based upon political disagreement. So, if I go tearing out and buy a 767 kit right now, how close can I get it to the new tanker without being a scratch-
  5. THANK YOU! It was probably too much to hope for a new tool....
  6. In the Great Models newsletter they have a "new" 48th Frogfoot from Eduard - is this a real new tooling, or is it a rebox of the Monogram or KP one with a bunch of Eduard extras tossed in? In other words, do I need to go camp out at my favorite local store and buy ALL of them right off the truck, or should I drag out my kitbash Monogram/KP and bang my head against it some more?
  7. I have had good luck with the SnJ metals (under a new owner now, but can't recall who - i know someone here will know immediately) and I am a complete coward with metal finishes. If it looked good when *I* used it, it will look fabulous for anyone else. (Hawkeye maybe?)
  8. Okay folks, I have ordered the digital camo decal sheets from HLJ. Not sure whenabouts to expect them, seems like last order came pretty fast. Will update once I have them. THANK YOU for the encouragement!
  9. eh ya' WUSS. We drive up from friggin' Rochester to hit Emil's shop! more like a 90 minute drive if no traffic! Discount Hobbies in Tacoma is pretty good too, but nothing beats Emil's Skyway. Except when we only want to drive an hour instead of two... LOL I can't recall a time we have walked out of Skyway having NOT gotten a great deal. Skyway rocks.
  10. That'll buff out with some elbow grease.... right? I hope?
  11. We have a piece of an SB-17 that crashed up in the mountains in the gorgeous Cascades. It is waaaay up at the top of what used to be a terrific hike, and we also have several photos of each of us among the wreckage. Sadly, not long after we hiked there the land was apparently turned over to a private party and word is they bulldozed the crash site and covered the place with no trespassing signs. The piece I have includes some of the yellow paint and my intent is to display it with a finished SB-17 from the Minicrapft kit, but so far everytime I think about starting that project and look at t
  12. DANGIT! I already have too many unbuilts begging for attention! STOMP! POUT! yeah, put me down for one....
  13. The Hellfires in the Bronco MQ-1 kit are a little better than medicore, so I thought i'd see if there are any available weapon sets with Hellfires... but so far I am not having luck with either "hellfire" or "hell fire" at the usual online hobby places. I cannot imagine they aren't included in any weapon sets... so maybe I am searching wrong? Do I need their numerical designation? Do I need to look very very closely at the various weapon sets for something that appears to be a hellfire? Oh hey, the massive (for our area) hail just stopped. I'll go paw through the kit stash in the garage...
  14. AWESOME, Raymond. Great news... that I wish I had known about a month ago when I placed an order! Would have doubled it! The time frame is usually a fine thing since, let's be honest, many of us are slooowwwww builders. I get all jumpy and itchy for the new cool awesome (Kinetic EA-6B for example) and after opening the box and drooling over the parts and planning the build... It will still be sitting in the "on-deck circle" 6 months or more from now... probably more. Until I become filthy rich and have ONLY spare time, this is just the fact of modelling in our little household world. ;)
  15. The MQ-1 kit is alright... nothing to write home about, but nothing that has made me want to find the nearest clock tower either. Better than a random ESCI, worse than an Italeri. The instructions are a few clicks worse than mediocre - there is guesswork involved in places, plastic is a bit rubbery, but it is about 350x better than their gawd-awful L-4 Grasshopper kit was. I had actually sworn I would never ever put $ down for another Bronco kit after that demon spawn, but since the worst part of the Grasshopper was the stupid way they had the canopy... and UAVs don't have a canopy... and I
  16. As I have whinged about previously... white and gray bores me on models. I have just (finally) finished my Bronco 48th UAV MQ-1 Predator as far as the assembly goes, minus the landing gear and Hellfires for painting. The entire build I have tried to talk myself into just following accuracy and make it gray/white.... I mean, I already did the resin Unicraft MQ-1 in the Southeast Asia B-52-esque scheme (in the gallery on ARC somewhere). You'd think I could stand to just paint it like it is.... But as I put the last plastic part on it... a terrible, evil, horrific idea popped into my head..
  17. GAH! I don't want three 110s though... sigh... I'll contact Eduard and see if I can buy the pups separate with 1 kit. THANKS EVERYONE!!!
  18. I know that one of the recent(-ish) releases of the Eduard Bf-110 kits included the 3 Dachshund mascots of one of the units -- Can someone tell me which boxing to look for? I think it was one that had the big hornet noseart...? Starting to think I want to build one of those kits, but being a dog freak, given the option I want the one with the pups. Thanks in advance! ~tracy
  19. Well I see that Kinetic has released their Prowler, so I guess it is time for me to build my couple of Monogram ones. I would like to do 1 as a Jammin' Jihad, and another as a Whidbey bird as yet to be decided. I have vast stores of confusion about some of the newish-ly released update sets though.... (I have 1 of the Cutting Edge update sets in the stash already) Can someone explain to me the diffs between Aires Early verses Late cockpit sets, and the Wolfpack OIF set ?? In terms that I can, as a (*)civilian, understand OR that if I look at a photo of a specific Prowler I want to mode
  20. Anyone know if the Wolfpack Designs "A-10A Warthog OIF Update set" for Italeri will "close 'nuff fer gubbermint work" fit the Monogram/Revell kit? Maybe just with some minor bashing? I cannot find the Revell set anywhere - just listed as discontinued. TIA! ~ tracy (I tried using the search to see if this was already covered, but ARC's forum search hates me.)
  21. That is pretty cool - though I find it a bit amusing that they have painted the "pilot's" name under where a cockpit would be if, you know, it had a cockpit!
  22. Hey all - how about that digital camo scheme on it?
  23. No, it is still in "time out". Still plan to finish it though! Maybe after I get more of the in-progress off my bench.
