  1. I made it! Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 78 done up in the colors of Gunnar Nilsson. I used ProTech braided hose, BR Motion fittings and MFH intake mesh. Decals are from Museum Collection and the tire logos are from Indycals.
  2. More progress... I might just make it by March 1st!
  3. I know it's been a long time, but progress has been made. It's not gonna make it by the deadline, but I'll post anyway. Engine finally done... RB Motion fittings, ProTech braided hose and MFH intake mesh. Body is ready for paint.
  4. Ok... it's been awhile. I found a photo of the car and I'm open to suggestions as to what color the side pods are. I can paint the chassis bright red but not sure of the pods. Hiro Boy says light red, I'm leaning more towards a burgundy color.
  5. Well, I'm not real good at this, but I gave it a try: Another version:
  6. I hope to build one... but I can't guarantee it.
  7. Cool, one of my favorite cars. FYI... Indycals sells blue number decals that will allow you to paint the gold as opposed to using the kit decals. http://www.indycals.net/decals/f1/77wolfwr1.html
  8. A chance to post some previous builds? Oh I gotta get in on this! Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari 312T. I started this one during the last GB, finished it yesterday. Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 72D: (Kris knows ALL about this one) SMER 1/32 Alfa Romeo 158: Tamiya 1/20 Lotus 25: Fujimi 1/20 Williams FW16:
  9. I'm in with this: And, Jay was correct, it will be done up in the Imperial scheme of Gunnar Nilsson: The fact that it's 1/12 and I build at a glacier pace, don't expect much progress soon. After all... I have a year!
  10. I'm in with a Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 78... and it will not be done in JPS colors.
  11. John, this came from a PDF I have called "NASA Facilities" #IS-2000-09-31-KSC Sept 2000: "Launch Pads 39A and 39B Launch Pads A and B at Complex 39 were originally designed for the Apollo program. They are octagonal in shape and virtually identical in size. Each covers about 0.25-square mile (0.65-square kilometer) of land, contained within a high chain link fence. Space Shuttles launch from the top of the concrete hardstand, which measures 390 feet by 325 feet (119 meters by 99 meters). The Pad A stand has an elevation of 48 feet (14.6 meters) above sea level; Pad B, 55 feet (16.8 meters).
  12. No, not your computer Holmes. I could have added some shading, but I figured for my first figure, why push it and possibly muck it up? Maybe the next one...
  13. I forgot to post a finished photo! Here's a link to my finished dragon: My Dragon
  14. I'm in. Maybe I can finish the Ferrari 312T I started for the last GB.
  15. Thanks very much Frank, e-mail sent.
  16. If anyone out there has this kit: It comes with Lufthansa and Danish airline decals. I'd be willing to buy whichever set you didn't use.
  17. I'm not the best rigger when it comes to bi-planes, but I made a simple "how-to" showing the Azur 1/72 Vickers Vildebeest that may help. Rigging How To I didn't drill holes with this one, but you can use the same process with holes.
  18. Merry Christmas everyone, and if you don't celebrate Christmas, then I wish you Happy Holidays!
  19. The arms don't fit too well. After 2 applications of filler, I got a reasonable fit.
  20. Work progresses on the base for my dragon. This is after the first application of groundwork. The rocks were painted in MM primer first, then drybrushed with lighter shades of gray. The dirt was painted a dark tan first, then the rocks were added using a deluted white glue mixture. The "moss" areas were also painted dark tan and then the grass was applied the same way as the rocks. After it dries, I will go back and fill in any empty spots.
  21. I have always wanted to try my hand at figures, so I picked this up at a swap meet awhile back on the cheap. If I screw it up, no big loss. It's quite a simple kit with very few parts. Attaching the head left a very large step. First round of filling and sanding. I tried to carve a reasonable presentation of the folds. Some primer applied to check my progress. The base presents a special problem. Since I'm a ship and car builder, I have no idea how to paint this. I'd like to come up with something like this... Anyone have any tips? Maybe point me to a "how to"?
