  1. For a time when the 26th Aggressors were at Kadena - their pilots who came from F-15 squadrons flew Kadena F-15Cs until they got their F-16Cs....then they got disbanded and the Cs ended up at Kunsan.
  2. Congrats - study hard and (speaking of blowing off steam) watch out for them woman at the University of West Florida!!! Berto Former E-3 Crewdog
  3. Didnt realize how close the tanker track is over Central Park! Looks like a fast hope to anyone trying to get to Rockfeller square
  4. Its been over two years and so far theres been so many publications that have disclosed where our undisclosed ARC bomb loader has been Yes we are proud of him "without bombs - it would be just another bankrupt airline"

  6. I'd love to go in depth for your question as far as the different levels of mission planning are involved starting from for example at CENTCOM/CENTAF where they nominate the targets and then put that into the ATO and then allocate it to a particular fighter wing or CVW (Carrier Air Wing) then onto the strike lead/squadron then flight lead. There are a few books out there that give you a good examples of mission planning - Tom Clancy's Fighter Wing, VF-41's Kosovo book "Black Aces High", Rosy Rosenkratz Viper's in the Storm along with the Osprey series F-14, F-15E, F18 units of Operation Ira
  7. This is the 1/35 scale one - wish they had Jennifer Beal from "Stealth"
  8. U.S. Navy Announces CVN to Replace USS Kitty Hawk in 2008 The U.S. Navy announced today that one of its nine Nimitz-class aircraft carriers will replace the USS Kitty Hawk as the forward deployed carrier in the Western Pacific, and will arrive in Yokosuka, Japan in 2008. The USS Kitty Hawk is nearing the end of its service life and will return to the United States in 2008 to be decommissioned. The United States values Japan’s contributions to the peace, security and stability of the Asia-Pacific region and its long-term commitment and hospitality in h
  9. Noticed that Aviano, Shaw, and Misawa alone with various guard and reserve units are deployed to Balad AB, Iraq ... this CG from the 510 is showing a sniper....
  10. During OIF ... F-14s, F-18s, and S-3s used Saddam Hussein's yacht as a dump target and the ship floated througout the war. But I guess it just depends on the type of weaponry and the locations of damage inflicted.
  11. The first time I heard of F-16C+ was used by pilots interviews that were based out of Jordan during OIF. I havent seen the term used for F-16Gs or F-16CJs.
  12. Nice to see ACC is sending units to the PACAF area vice the sandbox. Then again these Mountain Home birds originally came from Elmendorf. http://www.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/pho...F-1740G-005.jpg
  13. I was scanning though a magazine and there is a pic of I think 6 f-16Cs.. couple two seaters... with OT tailcodes. The pic has the first time I seen the full CCIP configuration as the left side HTS pod and a right side sniper pod on the lead F-16. I think it maybe Air Force Monthly. Even the sniper and the Pantera pods use the pylon.
  14. During the coup attempt in December 89 the Clark F-4Es had flown over downtown Manila and other areas and were only armed with their 20mm. I was flying backend E-3 AWACS at the time and we also had fully armed F-15Cs from Kadena as backup.
  15. During Operation Desert Storm/Proven Force I had manage flight follow the handful of 3TFW F-4Es from Clark to Incirlik. The F-4s flew from Clark to Hickam and had some maintenance problems at Hickam and stayed over before heading to George AFB, CA. From George the crews were swapped out by pilots/wso from the NJ Air National Guard and flown to New Jersey and the Clark crews flew them to Incirlik and spares went to Spangdelham. The F-4Es were going to budy lase for the F-111Es from Upper Heyford. I also knew a WSO "Hummer" Hume who flew 6 or so missions before the war ended. The Phantom S
  16. The F-16s wents straight to Korea.... then they came to visit Kadena after the fact..
  17. Back in the very late 80s early 90s ... the 26th Aggressor moved to Kadena Airbase from Clark with no planes and were going to transition to the F-16. Well the aggressor guys in the meanwhile flew Kadena F-15Cs and for some reason the F-16s were delivered to Kunsan for Kunsan's use as the decision was made to deactivate the aggressor starting with the overseas units.
  18. I noticed that there are actually 7 demos teams ... two each A-10, F-15C, F-16 demo ACC teams east and west. The 7th is the PACAF F-16 demo team out of Misawa. That being said I noticed that during the Australian Air Shows .. Kadena F-15s were flown by the ACC west coast demo team and during F-15 shows in Europe the ACC east coast teams are flying Lakenheath birds.
  19. The Thunderbirds had one with a song called Hero.... just dont remember who sang it.
  20. Yes.. Elmendorf will be getting 48 F/A-22s. I managed to read a transcript of General Patrick Gamble's testimony - former PACAF commander and was part of the staff that testified to keep Eielson open. Made a very convincing argument about the training ranges at Eielson and how the 354th and 3rd Wing can reach 85% of the hot spots in the world much faster than any CONUS based units. He also took a jab at the F-22 by saying that with the cost problems with it - the Air Force decided to put bombs on it and call it a F/A-22. He said - the F/A-22 will do alot more "F"ing and little "A"ing. Tha
  21. The mixed wing concept ran its 10 year course... with the removal of the KC-135s and B-1s the 366th went from a Wing back to Fighter Wing almost a year and half ago. I for one would of moved a second squadron of F-15Es to Elmendorf since the training ranges in Alaska far surpass that of any in the lower 48 and would be alot closer to Korea/PACAF - move the F-15Cs to Eglin and reactivate the 59FS and give the only active frontline F-16CJ Block 52 squadron to some ANG unit that would really love to fly them.
