  1. Here are a few photos of a project I started a couple of years ago, but for one reason or another did not quite finish. This is the Trumpeter's M1A1HA Abrams kit and the decals are from Echelon Fine Details, representing a tank from the US ARMY during OIF. Will need to add the parts that fell off while in storage plus the other bits and pieces to complete my Abrams. More images can be seen on my blog, press

  7. Hi Tony, As my airbrush compressor finally gave up the ghost recently, so I've had no choice but to apply my Dullcote finish by brush. I use Testors Dullcote diluted with turpentine. Approx 1 part dullcote mixed with 3 or 4 parts turpentine (just depends on the type of finish that you want) applied with a soft hair brush. My models are painted with acrylic paints coated with Long Life, if that helps. Below is a recent example: Lawrence

  16. Hi Madmike, that's the part I'm looking forward too. I really enjoy the weathering process but will go easy on the wear 'n' tear part. As the Abrams that I'm modelling doesn't seem to have much. Cheers Lawrence
  17. Hi All, Just a bit more progress on the Abrams. The decals have been applied and the equipment & stores have temporarily been added to gauge how the model will look finished. Still have to work on a few more things but hopefully will be completed soon. Cheers, Lawrence see more at: http://zedhobbies.blogspot.com/

  19. G'day HeavyArty, thanks for the input and photos (great pics by the way). I tried getting the Eduard set but it appears to be out of production. Anyway to cut a long story short, I scratch built a BRE for my Abrams . While not a 100% accurate it looks the part. Cheers, Lawrence see more at: http://zedhobbies.blogspot.com/
  20. Hi All, Here are some pictures of my Abrams that I'm currently working on. I will be building option 6 from Echelon Fine Details T35004 decal sheet and was wondering if anyone can confirm the colour of the mine plow, is it green or is it the same colour as the tank? There is a picture of the the actual tank on the back of the instructions (it appears green in colour) but it is too small to make an accurate decision and the instructions only have a line drawing of the mine plow but no colour suggestion. Have tried the web, but with no luck. Cheers, Lawrence see more at: http://ze
  21. Hi All Here are some pictures of my current build, Italeri's JAS-39 Gripen in 1/48 scale. At the moment I''m trying to source some aftermarket decals(have been informed that the kit decals are bit thick). The missiles and canopy are held in place with Blu Tac, the missiles will be glued after I add a wash and the canopy after I Dullcote the kit.
