theplasticsurgeon
This is the kit. These are the options and here are the parts I bought this kit in 1994, and haven't done much with it since. I've pinched the F-18A tails for another project, painted the pilot - probably whilst painting a batch, and the arrestor hook. Other than that, this kit is "as new" condition. I've just painted the cockpit components, and hope to get that assembled tonight. I'm a bit surprised that this kit is labled an F-18C, I though it was an F/A-18C - or have things changed since 1994? theplasticsurgeon
And here is the cockpit: and a bit burned out from the back I've had to remove the rear cockpit bulkhead for this pic. The upper fuselage is only dry-fitted so far. Hoping to assemble the fuselage properly tomorrow.

Mark M.
Are you not using the main instrument panel decal? Looks like you've hand painted it (nicely, I might add).

Yes - that main instrument panel is the kit decal. Plastic painted a base coat of grey - then applied the decal.
Aggressor Supporter
Looking good. The pilot looks pretty snug in there. :P
theplasticsurgeon
A bit more tonight - assembled the airframe around the pilot. and underneath A few seams to treat, but this kit is a gem. Quite an unusual breakdown of parts though - especially the fuselage sides.

theplasticsurgeon
Gained a few spare nano-seconds this afternoon - so I airbrushed my F-18C and Using Xtracolour with celulose thinners, so it's been put aside to dry still dry.

theplasticsurgeon
Nice. Keep it up as you're almost there. Thanks, all the remaining parts are painted. A quick aerosol of Matt finish at the weekend, then assemble and admire.
theplasticsurgeon
Finish straight. Masked canopy whilst I applied Matt finish. If you can smell the varnish - there's a very good reason. Fitted the fiel tanks, removed my sprue handles, and installed the burner cans. Just AIMs left to fit - and they need some markings. Leving that paint to set - whilst I visit mum for tea Hope to complete later tonight.
