thegoodsgt
Hello all, After not completing an aircraft for nearly a year (and just one piece of armor), I just finished this Trumpeter 1/72 RA-5C Vigilante. It's largely OOB, with the exception of the radar in the nose, robbed from an Eduard set for the F-105. I really like the option for displaying the stabilizer and wings folded, but if you install the vertical stabilizer in the up position, be ready to spend a lot of time filling that big, nasty joint! I wound up rescribing the entire stab. I painted the model with Tamiya paint, mixed to an approximation of the correct color by eye. Thanks to my friend Bud for doing a color correction of my shabby photos!
kurnass77
Good Vigi! A clean work! Cheers,Gianni
AndrewS
Great work! You've completed an excellent Vigilante and it's really enhanced by the folded wingtips and opened radome (brilliant use of available resin by the way). I also think your paint mix has nailed the look of gull grey; well done. Cheers, Andrew.

mlicari
Nice job. I had a heck of a time with the rear fuselage/engine housing, but I assume it was my fault and not something with the kit, as yours looks great. Mike

thegoodsgt
Thanks for the kind words, guys! @Mike - Yea, there was a challenge with the fit of the rear "plate" on the underside of the fuselage. Edited February 18, 2010 by thegoodsgt
