Jennings
Not counting the Wings 48... looks like the SOC, which was widely used from the yellow wings era through the end of WWII, would be a no-brainer subject for some enterprising kit manufacturer.
DonSS3
I've been wondering why no 1/48 SOC for a lot of years. The Wings vac looked like too much work for me, didn't look like a lot of fun given my skill set.
Raptor01
Had to Google, did not recognize designation. Cool aircraft, would look good next to Tamiya's Swordfish & RoG Arado 196. Lots of popular USN color schemes too. I would buy one if kitted!😄 John
Brad-M
Perhaps because only you and 10 others would want one?? Just sayin :) Brad
Jennings
Yeah, unlike the throngs of thousands who want 1/32 B-29s and B-36s... :)
Brad-M
Oh I know at least a dozen who'd love a 1/32 B-29 :) Brad
Jennings
I would also add that we have a mainstream injection molded 1/48 Saab J21 kit now... Not to mention the Ta183.
K5054NZ
Hang on - you want to know why there's no kit available, except for the kit that's available?
nerdling
Hang on - you want to know why there's no kit available, except for the kit that's available? What is available is a vacuform kit though. Not really a friendly build to most people.
Jennings
Okay... "no injection molded kit of the Curtiss SOC". :) I don't have the time or energy to mess with vacuforms these days.
DonSS3
Well, for what it's worth, Jennings, I still agree with you. There's all those great Yellow Wing schemes, the Blue-Gray over Light Gray, the 3-tone scheme and IIRC, some were even around late enough to get the overall Sea Blue Scheme. Jennings
Okay... "no injection molded kit of the Curtiss SOC". :)
MikeDassele
At least it's not a vac
