Air Power Over Hampton Roads 2023

Last weekend I traveled down to Virginia and attended Air Power Over Hampton Roads. Haven't been to a show in 5 years and this was a wonderful start to my Airshow season.

Very nice!  I really like the F-35 with the vapor cone!

For some reason I'm drawn to the photo with the Grumman E-2s radome mount and the people looking up at wing and engine details.

Broadside shot of taxiing Corsair is appealing.

Also appealing is the variety of aircraft types present.

Nice photo's you captured the best angles of the F-35

 

As silly as this sounds I never really thought about standing under the dome of the E-2. When you see a model you look down on it, but with the real thing you look up at it which gives a completely different perspective,

That shot was one of favorites. I like it for the sense of scale and the implied line of the one female crew member looking up along with the arrow-like support legs of the radome.

Thanks for posting. I too went to this show, static displays were a bit disappointing from years past, and I really wish this was a venue for flares use...water is at the end of the runway at the north end, but sadly no flares show...I was soooooo hoping for it.

We drove down from NY. It was a good show, excellent flying. I think Beo showed everyone else up with her low speed pass. Picked up a 27th FS patch signed by the Pilot of Frank 01.
