Jon Krol
Do the Marines still fly the F-18C's and D's or have they transitioned solely to the F-35B?

Jon Krol
I am guessing that because of them getting the F-35B and C, they will not get Super Hornets.

Marines were never in line for Super Hornets, they were holding out for the F-35.

ST0RM
I just refueled VMFA-312 last month, when they conducted a HARM ShootEx off Pt Mugu. The 4-ship were an even mix of C & Ds, with one Delta being a loaner from VMFA-115. Seems they'll indeed be around for a bit. That same morning, I met the pilots from a 6-ship of VMFA-314 flying the C-model F-35. They were happy with the new jet.
