AWACS-RESIN
Hi everbody, again, a new project. After the RC-135U was finished, the next model should be another RC/NC-135. I could not decide, which one. But now the decision is an NC-135W Big Safari. The kit is the AMT/Ertl RC-135V. This is another interesting version. It will have all the many aerials plus 4 extra antenna fairings on the rear fuselage. This model will have fully lowered flaps again plus fully raised speed brakes. I will try a new way of assembling the kit. I hope it works. Edited November 2, 2023 by AWACS-RESIN Word mistake
A-10 LOADER
Nice start so far, following along. Steve
Trooper111
Jost Sir, Because I've gotten these for my RC-135s Cobra Ball, I figured I'd pass along a little bit of helping you complete yours. All these things weren't available when I built mine. Attached are the RC-135s Rear teardrop fairings that began when the RC's were still labeled as RC-135m. These can be located at: RC-135M Rear Fairing (AYVDQ6M2B) by Echoco (shapeways.com) Saving you some headache pain.

I have seen those, but ordering from the States is way to expensive. I already made one. Now I have to make a mold and cast a few. The surface of the once on the NC-135W looks slightly different than the once from RC-135M/S. Greetings.
Drifterdon
Jost, Will be following along with another one of your amazing builds. I'm guessing this will be '2666'? It was just retired and sent to the Bone Yard. Don
AWACS-RESIN
Continuing on the build with the 4 antenna fairings on the aft fuselage. Also added 2 antennas, the wire antenna connection and the little dome antenna on the vertical stabilizer. On the wing tips, I fitted the sensors, also cut the o/b cove lip doors and pushed them in. The inboard ones are remade. Because the kit engines aren't that good,I made new ones out of resin. Edited November 10, 2023 by AWACS-RESIN

Da SWO
Nice. Do you 3D print your resin parts?
RichB63
You’re on quite a “Big Boeing” roll…you’ll need a hangar to park all these jets! That said, I never tire of watching these impressive projects unfold.

Still the old conventional method of cast resin. 3D would be nice, but I don't have the patience to learn CAD anymore
AWACS-RESIN
Further on the build, I installed the wings and the cheeks. Next will be the antennas on the upper fuselage, which are allready marked.

Drifterdon
Very nice Jost. I'm working on the same plane only in 1/144 using the Roden Rivet Joint kit. Definitely following along for special antenna placement.

Trooper111
Ok, the one that was just recently retired. Gotcha. I was thinking of the version that had the "Black missle" painted on the fwd fuselage for some reason.
ST0RM
Fantastic mod work. All the lumps and bumps on this unique bird, look great. -Jeff
AWACS-RESIN
Thank you for all your comments. Further in the build, I installed all Antennas on the top side Fuselage, painted the white part of the fuselage, vert. Stab and the Engines. After placing decals to the Engines, I installed the O/B Engines and the L/E Flaps. Edited November 22, 2023 by AWACS-RESIN Writing mistakes

AWACS-RESIN
A bit more work done on the Big Safari. All engine are installed. The antennas on the lower fuselage are also complitly done. The last big step will be the T/E flaps and speed brakes, before the A/C can be painted. I started with the R/H O/B side. Again, thanks for looking.
