Stonewall Jackson, Pat Tillman, the USS San Francisco - Blue on Blue incidents...at sea, on the ground, or in the air, happen more frequently than is commonly supposed. Always have, and I suspect, always will, as long as people kill each other. The combination of advanced weaponry, youth, adrenaline, fear, etc. can be - explosive. Glad the two are safe and recovered.

During the 1990's, the late Dick Ward (of Modeldecal fame) designed many of the decal sheets for both Airfix and Revell, and on occasion would approach me (amongst others) for input - in 1999 he asked me to suggest a colourful US Navy scheme for Revell's forthcoming re-boxing of Italeri's 1/72 A-6E TRAM Intruder...

....the one that I put forward - which went on to also become the subject of the box art - was this VA-115 aircraft, involved in a 'friendly fire' incident during RIMPAC '96, when it was shot down by a JMSDF destroyer:

How does this happen? 🤬

saw in another article.
“However, Central Command said that warships and aircraft earlier shot down multiple Houthi drones and an anti-ship cruise missile launched by the rebels. Incoming hostile fire from the Houthis has given sailors just seconds to make decisions in the past.”

The fog of war.

Glad it appears they are “ok”.
